Such Dreams

Part 5

Anna

I yawned and stretched. Last night, in my dreams, I’d informed Glinda about Elsa. She was missing, and had been for the past few days. I had no idea where she might have gone. We’d been so close to having our happy ending, but now she was gone. Today, the search party was to scour the mountains. But a few hours later, they came back with no results. Kristoff broke the news to me that there’d been no sign of her, and he put his arms around me when I started to cry. I went to bed, emotionally exhausted.

I woke up in the same room as always, now. Glinda was there. We blew away bubbles and snowflakes and sat next to each other.

“Anna,” Glinda began. “I have something important to tell you.”

I looked up at her, wiping a stray tear from my cheek.

“What is it?” I asked.

“Does Elsa, your sister, have light blonde hair, in a braid, and an icy blue dress?” Glinda asked. Excitement coursed through me, and I jumped up.

“Yes, yes, that’s her! Have you seen her?” I asked.

“Unfortunately, yes. She’s here in Oz, with me. She’s stuck.”

“How did she get there?”

“Long story. Anyway, we’re trying to get her home, so just be patient and wait, okay, Anna?”

“Okay!” I replied, grinning. Elsa was coming home and I couldn’t be happier. Glinda and I talked for a few more minutes, then said good-bye and woke up.

My eyes opened and surveyed the room around me. I’d just come from a dream with Glinda. I felt happy, but I didn’t know why. She told me something that made me happy. A joke? I didn’t know. The sun was slowly rising outside, and I grabbed a dress and my cloak. I was going to go find Elsa. I donned my cloak and boots and left the palace.

Trudging up the mountain was hard when the snow got thick, but I made my way through. I spent a few hours scouring, then around mid-morning, I saw a brilliant flash farther up the mountain. I ran towards it, and knew my suspicions were confirmed when I saw the blonde hair and blue dress.

Elsa had come home.
