Chapter 2:
When Alec woke up his head was pounding and a million questions were running through his head. What happened? Where is he? Why does his head hurt? Where are his friends? Then he remembered that his friends had fallen down the hole with him.
“Flaire! Snow!” he called out.
“Don’t yell so loud! My head’s killing me.” He looked over and saw Flaire cooking some kind of meat over a fire. Alec ran over and heard the grass crunch beneath his feet. He stopped running and looked down.
“grass? Wasn’t there snow before?” He looked up at the cloudless sunny day.
“weird right.” Flair said. “I’ve been up for almost an hour. Well I think it’s been an hour my watch stopped working after we fell. Did you know that you snore when you’re knocked out? Anyway I harvested the meat from some strange rabbit looking thing I killed. The animals here sure are weird. Oh and check this out.”
Flair smirked and flicked her fingers and a small flame danced to life on the tip of her finger. Just then she passed out and Alec ran to catch her.
“using it tires me out a whole lot though.” She said after she woke up.
“Weird.” Alec said putting his hands in his pockets. He felt something inside them. From his pocket he pulled out a map, a note and a small pouch filled with gold coins. He read the note out loud.
“By now you’ve probably figured out that there’s something special about the two of you. I’ve given you a map and some money to get you started on your journey. The best step would be to get some weapons for you and your friend. I wish you the best of luck.” When Alec finished he noticed that there was no signature on the note to identify who wrote it.
“Where are we and who wrote this note?” he thought to himself. Just then his stomach growled and he looked over at Flaire.
“Got enough to share with me?” he asked.
“maybe” she said and smiled “say pretty pretty pretty pretty please with sugar on top and admit that I’m a better all around person than you” She smiled teasingly. Alec repeated what she said because he was starving and didn’t want to go hunting. As the sun set he and Flaire set up a camp.
“I guess tomorrow we look for that town.” Flaire said making a camp fire.
“I guess so” Alec said looking up at the stars trying to figure out if he recognized any constellations. He didn’t. They were lost in a place they didn’t recognize with no food and only a small shelter.
“Hey whatever happened to snow?” Flaire said looking over at Alec.
“ Oh shit! Snow!” he looked around franticly he had been so caught up in the moment that he had forgotten about snow. Where was she?
Soon enough after many worries he fell asleep. After a while he was woken up by Flaire.
“Wakey Wakey. It’s morning sleepy head time to set off.” They took down their camp and Alec handed Flaire the map and they set off to the closest town, Flora.
Along the way they came across numerous flora and fauna that were very weird. Rabbits with wings, Rhinos wit fur covered bodies, mechanical animals and something that looked like an ostrich. But before long they made it and passed through the gates of Flora to begin their long journey.
