There aren't even words to describe how overdue this is. Sorry. But a lot has happened and I honestly haven't had the time or the inspiration. To those that are still reading, thank you so much. You guys are awesome!

Chapter Thirteen: Castles and Counsels and Demigods…Oh My!

“Why do you have to come along again?”

Aednat asked, both she and Mingy glaring as Nami piled into the backseat and casually laid his long arm behind Aednat’s head. Mingy growled lowly, earning her a dazzling all-knowing smile from Nami.

“Without me you’d never find where they are. Besides, I’m due for an appointment with Leticia.”

“Ugh, too much information.”

Aednat scoffed. Truly, Prentiss was surprised. Aednat wasn’t being charming? She must’ve really been afraid. That or Nami was the enormous pain in the ass he appeared to be.

“Just tell me where to go so we can be done with you.”

Aidan said. Nami laughed.

“No bullshit. I promise you if I find out you’re fucking with us I’ll rip your got damned throat out with my teeth.”

“Ah, ah, ah, I wouldn’t want to be on Leticia’s bad side if I were you. She’s a perfect lady until you take her toys from her.”

“So you do know that you’re only a vibrator to her then?”

Mingy asked, with a sarcastic smirk on her face. Nami chuckled briefly and fingered the ends of his blond hair with his slender fingers.

“I knew it from the moment she asked me to be her pet, darling. I might be slightly mischievous but I’m hardly a fool.”

“Ah, now that’s news.”

Aednat said beneath her breath. After that no one said a word. Prentiss cringed at the tenseness in the air. They sincerely hated Nami’s guts. What did he do that was so incredibly bad? Also, why did he pledge himself to this Leticia person? Before Prentiss knew what she was doing, she found herself voicing her inquiry aloud.

“Such bold questions from such a weak thing. Had you asked someone less forgiving than I, you might have gotten your pretty little face broken and bloodied.”

At the threat, Aidan growled. Prentiss shivered at the sound and found herself almost smiling. Clenching her hands, Prentiss tried not to scream. Che, the last thing she would do is prove the other right. No. She wasn’t going to fall for him. Never. Ever.

“But as I’ve stated, I am a very forgiving creature. As proof, I’ll even give you the answers you seek. To answer your first question, I suppose that I have a sense of humor that most do not understand or appreciate.”
