Piper leans back in their chair. I took them out for lunch, just to catch up on some things. Awsten and Daisy are both working, so it's just the two of us.
"Uh.. it's alright. Pretty good." I respond.
"You're literally dating Awsten Knight. Let's try that again."
I smile, rolling my eyes a bit. "Life is going wonderfully. Everything is just splendid. It's outstanding right now."
Piper takes a bite of their pasta. "Better."
Once they finish chewing, they look up at me again. "But like, honestly. You're dating, like, my idol. I wanna hear how it is. Do you know what I'd do to be in your position?"
I scoff. "Piper, you have a girlfriend and you're literally gay. Be quiet."
They mock me, then stab at their noodles, clearly wanting me to go on.
(you know when like you say something and then the other person goes like "mehemehmehmeh" while like showing their front teeth all quietly to make fun of u that's what piper's doing I didn't know what it was called lmao)
"Well, uh, he's like any other guy. He's hot. Extremely cute. Very fun to make fun of. Easy to talk to. Gives amazing hugs. I don't know."
They shake their head, chewing their noodles. "I think," they say, in between swallowing. "We all have to have a day long hang out sesh. With everyone. Me, you, Awsten, Daisy, Nora, and Leila. Wait, has Awsten met Nora and Leila yet?"
"Nope. Nora's not happy with me."
They chuckle. "As she should be," they say, pretending to be shocked. "She's your best friend and she hasn't even met your boyfriend, wow."
"She's so busy all the time, though, it's not my fault," I lie. Nora is literally never busy. She's a makeup artist, and that should fill up her schedule, but whenever I ask to hang out she's free. No matter when I ask her.
"Awsten's like crazy busy right now because of the new album, so how about it just be everyone besides him?" I suggest.
"Fine," they sigh. "But I do need to spend a little bit of time with him. I, uh, need to make sure my baby sister isn't making bad choices."
I roll my eyes. "Sure, it's a date."
