Day 5- Dates

I started rummaging through my clothes trying to find something to wear. I heard some commotion coming from the stairs, Seb rushed into the dressing room.

"Oi, sorry Tegan. Didn't mean to barge in on you."

"No worries, Seb. What's got you in a rush?"

"I'm excited which is rare for me."

"Care to explain why you're excited?"

"Get ready for it....I got picked to go on a date with one of the new islanders, must be Yasmin. I don't think I've ever felt this giddy before. It's a strange feeling."

"Congrats, mate. I got picked too. I reckon it will be nice to get out of the villa."

"Thanks. I agree. I'm stoked to get out of the villa. Looks like a few of us are getting out, AJ, Elladine, Viv and Nicky got a text too. I think the new islanders got to pick three people each. So I'm guessing Yasmin picked me, Nicky and AJ. You got picked by Ciaran and Tai. I think AJ is going with Tai too, and I think Elladine and Viv are going with Ciaran. I don't think Tai would've picked Elladine or Viv for dates so maybe he just went with you and AJ."

I offered him a faint smile, "ya that makes sense. Well I guess I'll leave to let you get ready."

"Ya, I don't have much time. Good luck on your dates, Tegan. Catch ya later."

I waved and walked downstairs. I didn't know how to feel about Yasmin taking Nicky on a date, I felt like I couldn't be mad since I was going on dates too, but it still made me nervous. I walked outside to wait for my ride. I was deep in thought thinking about what my dates would be like and how Nicky's date with Yasmin would go. I felt a hand snake around my waist from behind. I jumped and turned around.

Nicky laughed, "easy tiger, it's just me. Who else would be coming out here to say bye to you?"

I nudged him before wrapping my arms around his neck. "You came to say bye to me? Shouldn't you be getting ready for your date?"

"So you heard I have a date too....how do you feel about that?"

"Seb told me, I don't know. I reckon the same way you feel about me going on a date."

"I'm ok with it, it's just a date, right? Drinks, food, banter."

"Yeah, I guess so."

He pulled me closer and kissed my forehead, "when you got the text you had a date, I wasn't surprised. You told me I had nothing to worry about, I believe you and you have nothing to worry about either. I know our talk this morning was a little rough, but I was right about the new islanders and them being interested in you."

"Are you gloating right now?"

He laughed, "maybe, I like to be right and I was, so it feels pretty good."

"Ya, ya...I admit it you were right. Oh, looks like our time is up, babe. Here come the cars."

Nicky leaned down and kissed me passionately. When we pulled away he looked me in the eyes, a serious look on his face, "have fun on your date, but not too much fun. Save that for later when we are alone."

I nodded at him and headed towards the cars. On the drive over to my date I thought about Nicky's serious expression after he kissed me, what he said was his normal playful tone, but his face said otherwise. I started to think that he was really worried about my head being turned, or maybe he didn't trust me. Perhaps, his feelings for me were getting stronger and he was worried I didn't feel the same way. I was pulled out of my train of thought when the car pulled up to a small wooded area with a beautiful waterfall running into a shimmering pool.
A small picnic was laid out on the floor. I sat down on the picnic blanket waiting for my date, Ciaran walked over to my waving enthusiastically.
