2 Days Later

"You been quite the whole plane ride." Nico said as he got into the drivers seat. We just landed in Houston not too long ago. "You straight?"

"Nico, I have to tell you something."

"Wassup?" He said turning to look at me. We were still sitting in the parking garage at the airport.

"Before I say anything, I want you to know that I truly do care about you which is why I'm doing this."

"Spit it out."

"Our little relationship or whatever you wanna call it needs to be put on hold for a bit."

"On hold?" He scoffed. "Wow."

"Nico I-" I tried to touch his shoulder but he snatched away. "It's complicated okay? I'm in a relationship! You knew that! I can't just up and leave him right now."

"I sat there and expressed my true feelings for you and you gone sit here and tell me you choosin to go back to a nigga who left you alone on your birthday?! You rather go back to a nigga who don't treat you right while you got a nigga right here that's willing to love you and give you everything you need and want. You know damn well ion express my feelings to nobody. So what? You was just gone lead me on this whole time knowin you was gone go back to him?"

"That's not the case. It's just c-"

"Complicated, I know! You been sayin this same shit for months. I can look in your eyes and tell you wanna be with me. Why you goin back to him?"

"I can't leave him right now. That's all you need to know."

"So what? I'm just supposed to sit around and wait for you to come back to me?"

"I would never ask you to do that. Look, I meant everything I've ever said to you about caring about you. Everything we've shared is real. We just need to chill right now."

Without saying anything, he started the car and pulled out of the parking garage. I could tell he was hurt, which was hurting me too. I should've listened to Ari when she first told me to make a decision. I should've never let it get this far.

The car ride was silent other than the night winds coming through the window. I hated feeling like this. I hated Nico feeling like this. I know choosing Devin is stupid, but choosing Nico would've been worse and caused more damage.

I felt the car come to a stop and realized we were outside of my house. I turned over and looked at Nico. He was lookin straight ahead. I leaned over and softly kissed his cheek.

"I'm sorry." I whispered lowly before getting out of the car. I grabbed my bags from the back before closing the door and heading up the stairs to my front door. I sighed loudly before unlocking the door. I grabbed my bags and brought them in before closing and locking the door back.

"Where the fuck you been?!" I heard Devin yell causing me to jump. He tossed his bottle to the side before stumbling over to me. I knew his ass was drunk, but why was he home early?

"I thought you were gonna be in L.A. for another couple of weeks." I said ignoring his question.

"Came back early. Who the fuck was that in the car?"

"Dev, I had a long flight and you're drunk. Let's both get some rest and we can talk about this in the morning." I grabbed my bags from the door and pushed past him to head up the stairs.

"No!" He yelled as he knocked my bags out of my hand. "You think you can sit here and play me? I saw you kiss that nigga." He said pushing me hard into the wall. "I been home for the past four fuckin days. I been lookin for yo ass. Callin. And you been with some nigga?" He raised his hand to punch me but I ducked causing him to punch a whole in the wall.
