Aizawa POV

Flashback

"Hey, Shotaaaaaaa what're you thinking about now???" Hizashi asked.

"Just how much I would rather be sleeping right now," I respond.

"Awwwww, but we're having so much funnnnnn!!!!"

"I wouldn't be so sure, maybe you, but there are many things I would rather be doing"

"Like what?"

"Like sleeping"

"You're no fun! We're hanging out! Enjoy yourself! You have nothing you need to worry about right now so just have some funnnnnnnnn!"

"You know what I find fun?" I ask and he looks at me with a face of disappointment, "Sleeping and hanging out with cats... not... this" I let out a small smile and Hizashi gives one in return then suddenly out of nowhere he starts to laugh, and somehow I can't help but to join in.

"You know Shota, I really like..."

Flashback End

I wake up in a cold sweat as I recall the dream that just happened... no it wasn't a dream, more like a forgotten memory, I remember Hizashi from my years of youth at UA, but where were we? What were we doing? And... what was he going to say?

All of these questions come to me in a rush but I know that none of them matter, I haven't seen Hizashi in a decade, I know that he's doing hero work as well, but I couldn't tell you anything else. Although we could be considered friends back then, that clearly doesn't matter when one suddenly stops responding to the other when they leave...

I shake my head to clear it of any unuseful thought and check the time, it's 4 am, which means that I got around 3 hours of sleep... that's pretty good. I was patrolling until almost 1 and somehow actually fell asleep when I got back, but, of course, it couldn't last too long. At least it lasted about an average time, I usually get about 2-3 hours of sleep at night and have a few forced naps throughout the day so that I don't run myself too ragged... of course, I still do, but hey, that's the name of the insomnia game, isn't it. In this horrible game, coffee is my only true friend.

I get up and get a cup of coffee to go, at least being up this early lets me take the early shift on patrol. Crime never sleeps as they say, and I guess you could say the same about justice... or people with... issues.

There's no use for me to sit around so I pour some food for the cats and head up to the roof. Almost directly when I get up to the roof I hear a woman's scream and start to rush to the voice to help.

The woman is backed into a corner by a man who seems to have a Mutant class quirk making him larger and probably stronger, which I cannot erase, what I good start to my day, I think as I grab him with my capture scarf while he is off guard.

*-*Time Skip to the end of the fight because I suck at writing fight scenes*-*

"Thank you so much... sir!" The woman cries once I pin the guy to the ground, keeping him down with my capture scarf.

"Eh," I mumble as I grab out my phone to send someone to come bring him in.

"I'm sorry if this is rude but... are you a hero, you just... ummmm... look a bit... different from the heroes I've seen and I don't think I've seen you on TV" The woman nervously asks once I've hung up the phone.

This happens all the time so I honestly don't care but it's always a pain to deal with.

"Yes, I am, I'm Eraserhead, feel free to look me up, or don't I really don't care, but just don't leave until the police arrive because they'll need you to make a statement" I sigh as I rub my eyes hoping that she won't want to make conversation in the meantime.

"A-alright, I'm Himari it's ummm... nice to meet you I guess." She responds, she obviously hasn't found her soulmate either, but she seems very young and gives a sigh of relief when she confirms I am not them. It's very common in this world to formally introduce yourself to anyone you have not yet after you turn 18 until you find your soulmate, but I just find it stupid in general. At least I didn't have to say anything in response, I had already stated my Hero name, and it just has to be something you commonly go by.

Though that annoyed me I am lucky in that she stays quiet until the police arrive to take the guy in, I obviously have to make a statement too, but because it was a smaller crime I was able to just say it to the police before they left to take the guy in.

Right after the police leave, I look all around the area, although there weren't any distinct signs, for some reason I felt like someone was watching me the entire time. After a while of searching with nothing and no one to be found, I label it a lost cause and decide to continue patrolling.

*-*Time skip to that night because I can*-*

I decided to head home early tonight so I have just arrived home at around midnight, I decide to have a Jelly packet for I guess you could say dinner, and try to head to sleep. Although I know I won't be able to, I have to try to get a good night's sleep for tomorrow because tomorrow is the day of my last interview to become a UA teacher.
