In an Alternate Reality- An Attack on Titan Fan-Fic

Chapter 2

*Time Skip*

Eren woke up and jolted up, he noticed that he was in some sort of warehouse. He also noticed Mikasa by his side.

"Eren it's okay, you were just dreaming." Mikasa said trying to comfort Eren.

"Yeah" Eren said as he looked at his father's key.

As Eren looked at the key, he started to get memories of his father. Grisha was holding a syringe with some weird purplish fluid inside. Grisha injected Eren with the fluid and turned into a Titan and ate his father. Eren remembered these events and soon realized that he is a titan.

"I'm a...Titan." Eren muttered to himself with shock. Mikasa heard what he said and looked at Eren confused. 

"Eren, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. I received some memories from my father. It turns out I'm a Titan." Eren told Mikasa still sounding shocked.

"I must learn how to use this power. With this power I can protect those I love." Eren said. Those were the last words Grisha told Eren before he was eaten. 

Mikasa was still confused, but something told her that he wasn't lying. Mikasa then changed the subject.

"Eren, they're handing out food rations, let's go get some food."

Eren snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Mikasa.

"Lead the way." 

Eren and Mikasa went to get ration meal which consists of only bread. As they walked, Armin came running toward them.

"Hey guys, my grandfather was able to scrounge some extra by saying he has kids." Armin said as he handed some bread to the two.

"Thank you, Armin," Eren and Mikasa said almost in unison.

The trio sat in shade by some pillars eating peacefully. The silence was broken by a guard.

"Why are we handing out rations? The Titans attacked they should have eaten a few more."

The trio was shocked by the audacity of the man.

"Tch, What an idiot." Eren said somewhat annoyed by the man's statement.

Armin and Mikasa both looked at Eren. They expected him to give the man a piece of his mind.

"Uh, Eren. Are you okay?" Armin questioned.

"Hm, yeah I'm fine. Why'd you ask?" Eren responded.

"You were calm. Usually when someone says something like that, you try to pick a fight." Mikasa answered.

"I know how to control myself. I know when not to be stupid." Eren said.

"That's nice to hear, Eren." Armin told his friend.

Armin then walked to Mikasa and whispered something in her ear. Eren just sat there eating his bread. He then stood up and as soon as he did, Eren was met with Mikasa's fist right on his jaw, the punch send Eren back to the floor.

"What the hell, Mikasa!?" 

Armin then gasped.

"You weren't lying! "Armin said.

"There is no need for me to lie and I'll let that slide." Eren said as Mikasa helped him up.

"After what happened back home, I decided that I need to change. I cannot control what people think. Mother always got after me for getting into fights because I disagreed with what people thought, she always told me that I couldn't  handle everything on my own." Eren told his friends. Armin and Mikasa could not help but just smile. Although they picked up the sense that Eren was completely broken on the inside and chose not show it.

*Time Skip*

Armin was now holding his grandfather's hat. Armin just looked at it while crying his eyes out. Eren looked at Armin with sympathy and remorse. It reminds him of the time his mother died.

"Armin, I'm so sorry for your loss." Eren said in a sympathetic tone.

Eren proceeded to sit down on some steps.

"I'm going to sign up for Cadet Corps."

"I'll go with you" Armin said with tears still streaming down his face.

"Armin, are you sure?" Eren questioned.

"I said I'm going." Armin responded.

"Same here." Mikasa said speaking up.

Eren smiled

 "We'll go together then."
