"Jeno, we are making no progress here. It's been three weeks and he's still not acknowledging our attempts of flirting." Jaemin inhaled and exhaled dramatically. Renjun had gone to work, and Jeno was doing his own work on the computer. "Well, Jaemin, if that's the case then perhaps we need to up our game a little. And don't you have to prepare report cards for your class? You're going back to the school next month." Jeno didn't even bother to look at his boyfriend when he replied to him.

"No, Kun hyung's got that covered. I just need to use the rest of my break productively, as he would say."

"You're lucky. You get to work with five year-olds while I have a bunch of people chasing me for reports I handed in four months ago." Jeno sighed and closed his laptop. "That's a day's work done. Thank sausage for Minho, he finished quarter of it for me."

"Minho? Lee Minho? Your friend with the three cats and squirrel boyfriend?"

"Who else would it be? He's my only close friend in the company."

"This is so sad, I'm friends with everyone at the Kindergarten."

-

Renjun was already loving his new job. The place smelt amazing, a smell he couldn't quite describe, but he couldn't get enough of it. The manager was friendly, his colleagues respected his privacy, and the people who approached him for help were polite. He was wishing he had longer working hours. "Renjun! Do you want to get ice cream after the shift ends? My boyfriend will pay." He turned around to see Beomgyu's smiling face. "I'd love to, but maybe next time. I have to go home as soon as possible or I'll get attacked by my roommates." The Korean pouted and leaned on the wall. "Okay then. Oh, I almost forgot, Mr. Lee said we can leave now since people from the next shift came early."

"In that case, I can go for ice cream."

"Grab your bag, Yeonjun's waiting outside."

-

"Shoot, I should have left twenty minutes ago." Renjun glanced at his watch before throwing away the empty ice cream cup. "Sorry, but I have to go now. Get home safe! I'll see you tomorrow." He waved at his friend and fast-walked in the direction of the bus stop. He was a few metres away from it, when his phone started playing Chewing Gum by GayCity Dream, indicating that Jaemin was calling. "Hello?"

"Don't 'hello' me, Injun. You're six minutes late. Where are you?"

"The bus stop near the ice cream parlour."

"The ice cream- I'm having Jeno pick you up. Don't you dare move."

"Jaemin, I can get home by myself."

"That's not allowed. You're going to wait there until he comes."

"Alright."

Renjun sighed and sat on a bench. Maybe he should have just checked the time more often.

-

"Huang Renjun!" The grey car he was now very familiar with pulled up in front of the bus stop. The window rolled down, revealing a messy haired Jeno wearing what seemed to be a hoodie and pajama pants in the driver's seat. "Get in." He sighed again and opened the passenger seat. "Sit beside me." And Renjun had to comply.

was he always so intimidating? and his jawline, damn, it could cut me in half. indeed a finely built bitch

"Why were you late?"

Jeno asked. Renjun didn't reply for a few seconds, since he was preoccupied staring at his friend. "Huh? Oh- I finished my shift early so I went for ice cream with my friend and his boyfriend. I lost track of time and I left late."

"If you're going to be late, at least leave a message. Jaemin was so worried."

"As I said, I lost track of time. Also, did you guys make dinner yet? I'm hungry." He rubbed his stomach and resumed staring at Jeno, rather outwardly. "Nana's making dinner, don't worry. And your neck's going to hurt if you keep staring at me like that. I suggest you turn yourself a bit to make yourself more comfortable." Jeno tapped his fingers on steering wheel as he hummed along to the soft piano playing on the stereo.

"I wasn't staring. I was, uh, appreciating natural art. Nice face you have."

"Those are just big words for staring."

"Okay, maybe I was staring. What are you going to do about it, Jenofer?"

"Okay that's even worse than NoJam, please don't."

"That really depends on your behaviour, Jenofer."
