They had a gig today and it was Tré's first. If he said he wasn't a bit nervous he'd be lying. They'd taught him to play the songs they planned on playing there, that was about it. He knew their ex-drummer's part. Luckily Billie had some new music in the works which Tré was of course happy about. He wanted to be apart of it and he was quite excited that someone actually wanted him as their drummer, even if the circumstances were a bit on the shitty side, to say the least.
Tré was ready. He knew he was. Despite being nervous this was his chance to prove himself for the first time to himself, Billie, Mike, and other people. He knew he could do it. He'd been playing for a long time and he loved what he did. This was just a small show but he knew it wouldn't be forgotten.
Billie seemed excited but Mike didn't seem to give much emotion. They'd done this before, just without Tré. And none of them doubted his ability to drum and he didn't doubt the bassist's or the guitarist's abilities.
Tré just hoped that he wouldn't fuck up somewhere along the way. That would be worst case scenario.

They were all set up. Tré's drums were ready, people were showing up, Billie was ready to play Blue and Mike was ready to play his bass. Everything was just falling together naturally.
One song in particular caught Tré's interest, but he wasn't sure why.
More and more people came in and then it was ready to start.
Billie said some quick greetings and a few things before actually announcing they were going to play. Tré didn't catch any of it. The blood was rushing to his ears and all he could focus on was Billie, for whatever reason. He just couldn't actually understand and process the words.
Suddenly Billie started up, and Tré caught on quickly. "Going to Pasalacqua" was easy to remember from the intro on guitar. All he could do was drum, all he could do was play and keep on playing like he was taught and soon he found himself lost in the music. The crowd was excited but he was more calm now with the energy around him, the sounds of Mike's bass and Billie's guitar went perfectly with the drums so he found himself relaxing more and more as they went on.
Soon the song that stood out to Tré started. "Only of You".
He wasn't quite sure why. He didn't know if he'd ever know why. He listened to Billie sing. Billie's voice was perfect to him, he liked the way he sang. It was comforting and energizing at the same time.
"I wish I could tell you
But the words would come out wrong,"Billie's voice became quieter, Tré listened in more closely so he could hear the words he was singing.
"Tré if you only knew
The way I felt for so long,"Tré almost couldn't move, he felt paralyzed. Everything changed in just a moment. He couldn't think. He could hardly breathe. All he could do was drum and prepare for the song to be over. The atmosphere shifted and he wasn't sure what it was. There were more things he couldn't do than he could do. He was so nervous and so excited at the same time. He wasn't sure what it meant. Did Billie mean it? Was it for real?
Too many questions with no answers.
Mike seemed unmoved. He didn't seem to care much at all. Maybe that was because he was busy but Tré still wondered exactly what he was thinking.
When the song ended, Billie stopped to speak. Tré stood up, moving to him but not saying anything. "This is my friend Tré," he announced, very few putting the pieces together. "Tré is a good friend of mind now, and,"
