IT WAS SCIENCE FAIR WEEK AT DEGRASSI, Max had been preparing her science project the whole week to present it on Friday in front of the judges. Her project's hypothesis was: The bigger the wheel on a skateboard the faster it goes. The results of the project had been showing nicely, and even though she knew it wasn't a winning project, she was very proud of it.
Max had also been helping Emma out with her project, she was doing a project about how eating healthier would increase your athleticism. So for the past week, Max and all her friends had only been eating healthy and doing a bunch of exercise for Emma's project.
The girls were outside during their biology lesson to do jumping jacks for Emma's project, she had seemed upset all morning, which probably had something to do with Emma's new stepdad Mr. Simpson who she still had a hard time accepting.
Max stops after doing 50 jumping jacks, she was out of breath and had to lie down on the pavement to catch her breath, "remind me to never help you with a project again"
Emma is fully focused on her clipboard where she writes her results down, "50 that is 15 more than you did last week when you were eating junk" Emma states, looking at her friend.
She gets up from the ground glaring at Emma, Manny finishes her jumping jacks as well before walking over to her friends. Suddenly Emma gets a scowl on her face which catches Manny and Max's attention.
"UGH, every time I turn around there he is, at home, at school" Emma hisses, directing her friends' attention to Mr. Simpson who was locking his bike.
"Can you ever get too much Mr. Simpson?" Manny asks sarcastically.
Emma looks back at the girls, "uh, yeah? he came over last night and guess what he asked me"
"What?"
"If I had any hot dates this weekend," Emma says and rolls her eyes.
Max snickers silently, "that's gross"
Emma nods her head, "you want grosser? he asked me to call him by his first name... Archie"
The girls cringe, "does that make your mom Betty?" Manny asks, referencing the comic Riverdale.
"I always thought she was more of a Veronica type" Emma jokes, making the other girls laugh.

Back in the science lab, every student is in the middle of finishing their science project, tomorrow was the day of the science fair. Max was almost finished, all she had to do was finish decorating her board.
From her seat, she could see JT mixing something that looked like gelatine goop, even from far away it looked disgusting, and he had gotten it all over himself. Max still wasn't sure what his project was about, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to know.
