It's The Little Things

Time jump Ellen is now 3 months pregnant. 

Ellen's POV

Today we are going to find out the gender. Stella is so excited to be a big sister. I'm laying in bed waiting for Patrick to wake up. I couldn't sleep because I am to excited. I see that Paddy is starting to wake up so I snuggled closer to him.

"Are you ready to find out what 'little bug' is?" Patrick asked.

"Yes, I can't wait. I think 'little bug' is a little girl."

"I think we are having a boy."

"Mother's instinct is 51% right so I have a pretty good shot." I state. We got ready and took Stella with us to the doctor so she could see if she is going to have a little sister or a little brother. After waiting for the doctor to come in and she asks us if we want to know the gender she starts the ultrasound.

"Alright let's see what you're having." The doctor makes a surprised face and I start to get worried.

"What's wrong?" Patrick asked and I can see that he is also worried.

"Well is nothing bad." The doctor tells us.

"What is it."

"There is more than one baby in there."

"How many?"

"Congratulations you're having twins!"

Time jump Ellen is now 6 months pregnant.

Me and Patrick are setting up the nurseries while Stella is at school. We are going with gender neutral colors for both of the nurseries.

"What if we start talking about names for the babies." Patrick asks.

"For 'little bug' I was thinking Mia?"

"I like that name. How about Oliver for 'little bear'?"

"I like those too." I tell Patrick.

"Then it is settled we will have Mia, and Oliver Dempsey." Patrick says.

Time jump Ellen is now in labor.

 My contractions are now 3 minutes apart and I am 9 centimeters dilated so next contraction I should be able to push.

"Ellen, I need you to push for me." The doctor told me on my next contraction.  

"Patrick I swear to God we are never having sex again!" I scream while pushing.

"I'm sure you don't mean that." Patrick whispers in my ear.

"I'm pretty sure I do!" I yelled back. After a few more pushes Mia is out and a few more after that Ollie is out as well. The doctors lay both of them on my chest.

Time jump the twins are now home from the hospital.

Me and Patrick haven't been sleeping any day every time one baby stops crying the other one starts. Patrick's mom came down from Maine to help out and my dad came up from Boston to help as well. We all take turns claiming them down. 

"Hey, honey, the kids are down come sleep with me." Patrick whispers in my ear while he is walking up the stairs. 

"Ok, I'll go up with you." Once I get upstairs and changed we snuggle in bed together as we drift off to sleep.
