"Say hello to Buckbeak." Hagrid said after tossing a dead pheasant up in the air that Buckbeak caught in his beak to eat.

"Hagrid, exactly what is that?" Ron asked as we all stared at pretty creature.

"That, Ron, is a hippogriff. First thing you want to know about hippogriffs, is that they're very proud creatures. Very easily offended. You do not want to insult a hippogriff. It may just be the last thing you ever do. Now... who'd like to come say hello?" Hagrid said as everyone backed up except for Harry and I who I some how ended up standing next to again without realizing it.

"Well done, Harry. (Y/N). Well done." Hagrid said causing both Harry and I to look behind us and notice that everyone else backed up except for us. "Come on now." Hagrid said as Ron leaned forward and pushed us both forward. "Now.. you have to let him make the first move. It's only polite. So.. you step up nice bow. Then you wait and see if he bows back. And if he does, you can go and touch him. And if not...well, we'll get to that later. Now, just make your bow." Hagrid said as Harry and I walked up close and bowed before the hippogriff. "Nice and low." As we bowed low Buckbeak squawked and beat it's wings towards us. "Back of you two, back off!" Hagrid said in a rushed whisper to us causing us to back off and then freeze as Harry stepped on a stick snapping it. "Keep still. Keep still." Barely glancing up we looked to Buckbeak who made his bleating sound before stepping forward and bowing deeply himself. "Well done, you two. Well done." Hagrid said before throwing another pheasant to Buckbeak for him to eat. "Right. Now I think you both can go and pat him now." Hagrid said causing us both to look at him in surprise. "Go on. Don't be shy. Nice and slow there." Hagrid said as Harry and I slowly made our way forward. Looking back for a second I saw Draco looking at me intently with concern in his eyes before I looked back forward. "Not so fast Harry." Hagrid said as Harry tried walking a little faster making Buckbeak snap is beak at us slightly. "That's it nice and slow. Now let him come to you." Hagrid said as we got within fifteen feet of the hippogriff keeping our hands out stretched towards him. "That's it, slowly now, slowly." Hagrid kept mumbling as Buckbeak came to us before resting his head in our hands allowing us to pet him. Huge smiles grew on Harry's and mines face as we got to pet this beautiful bird. "Well done! Oh well done!" Hagrid said clapping as the rest of the class joined in and I smiled back at Draco who seemed to be relieved that I didn't get hurt. "I think he may let you ride him now." Hagrid said walking up to us

"What!?" Harry and I asked surprised looking at Hagrid as he picked us both up.

"Come on. Put you over here." Hagrid said as Harry and I tried to protest him putting us on the hippogriff. "Just behind the wing joint." Hagrid placed me first then Harry behind me on the animal as it squawked from the sudden weight. "Don't pull out any of his feathers 'cause he won't thank you for that." Hagrid finished his sentence with hitting Buckbeak lightly on the arse and the animal reared up causing me to yell in surprise and hug onto it as Harry held on to me. Then Buckbeak took off running flapping its wings before flying into the air and I could hear Draco yell my name along with the shouts from below from the rest of our class.  Flying high up we circled around the school before gliding above the water of the Black Lake as Harry and I slowly sat up as I gently held onto the feathers of Buckbeak and Harry had is arms wrapped around my waist. Harry cheered loudly as we flew through the air making me laugh until eventually Hagrid whistled and Buckbeak brought us back down to the ground.

"Well done, Harry, (Y/N)!" Someone called out to us from the crowed.

"Well done, you two! And well done Buckbeak." Hagrid said walking over to us. "Well done, well done. How am I doing me first day?" Hagrid asked as he helped us get on the ground again.

"Brilliant... Professor." Harry and I said at the same time smiling brightly.

"Yes. You're not dangerous at all, are you, you great ugly brute?" Draco said as we turned and looked at Draco.

"Draco, stop!" I shouted slightly panicked at the same time Hagrid said "Malfoy! No!"

"Whoa!" Draco yelled holding up his arm as Buckbeak clearly got angry and rose up on his back legs scratching Draco's arm that he held up in defense. Hagrid then got in between then before throwing a pheasant to the side for Buckbeak to chase after and stay away from Draco.

"Oh, it's killed me!" Draco started whinning on the ground as I made my way over to him and knelt beside him. "It's killed me."

"Calm down." Hagrid said coming back over to Draco. "It-it's just a scratch."

"Hagrid!" Hermione called out to him. "He has to be taken to the hospital."

"I'm the teacher. I'll do it." Hagrid said nodding

"Oh! You're gonna regret this!" Draco said weakly as I put my head in my hands sighing loudly.

"Why would you ever wanna date such a hateful bastard." Harry said to me softly as we watched Hagrid walk away.

"Believe it or not Harry, he is a lot sweeter then he seems. But they way he was raised affects his personality a lot. Now I better go I promised him last year after you got hurt that I would come and be with him in the hospital when he got hurt next." I said softly kissing Harry's cheek before running after Draco and Hagrid to the hospital wing.

"Does it hurt terribly Draco?" I heard Parkinson's ask from my seat next to Harry and Ron in the great hall during study hour as I rolled my eyes glaring at the pug faced freak from my seat.

"It comes and it goes. Still I consider myself lucky. According to Madam Pomfrey, another minute or two, and I, uh, could've lost my arm. I couldn't possibly do any homework for weeks." Draco said and I groaned softly in anger that he was dragging out his scratch like this.

"Listen to the idiot. He's really laying it on thick, isn't he?" Ron asked and looked at me.

"Yes, he is we had a big blow out about how he shouldn't have done it and him saying I was taking sides so I'm sure he's cozying up to Pug face Parkinson's to get my bloody attention the git." I said angrily huffing.

"Yeah, but at least Hagrid didn't get fired." Harry said.

"Yeah, but I heard Draco's father's furious." Hermione said, "We haven't heard the end of this."

"No, not by a long shot." I said softly resting my head on Harry's shoulder.

"He's been sighted, he's been sighted!" Finnigan yelled running down between the tables.

"Who?" Ron asked as we all looked at Finnigan.

"Sirius Black!" Finnigan said as we all moved closer to look at the paper.

"Dufftown? That's not far from here." Hermione said surprised.

"Y-you don't think he'd come to Hogwarts, do you?" Longbottom asked fear clearly evident in his voice.

"With dementors at every entrance!?" Another Gryffindor boy asked that I didn't know the name of.

"Dementors! He's already slipped past them once, hasn't he? Who is to say he won't do it again?" Finnigan said as I backed up into a solid chest as an arm wrapped around my waist from behind with a small hiss of pain by bumping into Draco's bad arm.

"Sorry.." I whispered softly not loud enough for him to hear me but he squeezed his arm around me slightly like he had heard me.

"That's right. Black could be anywhere." The same Gryffindor boy said a chilling ominous to his voice. "It's like trying to catch smoke. Like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands." The boy finished saying as we stared down at the photo of Black screaming into the camera before being pushed back over and over.
