"Sirius Black is your Godfather?" Draco asked in shock reading the letter that Harry had sent me last night as we sat in the corner of the common room where we wouldn't be heard.

"Apparently so," I say softly as I lay my head on his shoulder, "he was mum and dads best friend and he turned his back on them and gave them up betraying them."

"I wouldn't know much about any of that. He's my second cousin but mum doesn't talk much about him if at all. He was a disgrace to the black family name apparently and is never talked about." Draco said running his fingers through my hair making a small smile appear on my lips as I drifted away sleeping enjoying the moment before he was gone for the holidays.

"Harry, (Y/N)? There you both are, you came. Now are you two sure about this? You know this is very advanced magic, well beyond the ordinary wizarding level." Professor Lupin asked us.

"We're sure." Harry and I said at the same time.

"Well, everything is prepared." Lupin said gesturing to the trunk in front of Harry and I. "Now, the spell I'm going to try to teach you is called a Patronus Charm. Did you ever hear of it? No? Well a patronus is a kind of positive force, and for the wizard who can conjure one, it works something like a shield with the dementors feeding on it rather than him. But in order for it to work you need to think of a memory. Not just any memory, a very happy memory, a very powerful memory. Can you two do this? Yes? Very well. Harry first, (Y/N), please step to the side. Close your eyes. Concentrate. Explore your past. Do you have a memory? Allow it to fill you up. Lose yourself within it. Then, speak the incantation, Expecto Patronum." Professor Lupin said as he walked around Harry slowly while also looking at me while giving the instructions.

"Expecto Patronum." Harry repeated back to make sure he spoke it correctly.

"Very good." Professor Lupin said as he walked over to a trunk that was sitting in front of Harry. "Shall we?" He asked as Harry nodded at him. "Wand at the ready." With that Harry pulled out his wand and pointed it at the trunk in preparation. With a wave of his hand Professor Lupin unlocked the trunk and looked at Harry nodding before lifting up the top of the trunk letting out the boggart that took the form of a dementor.

"Expecto Patronum! Expecto... Expecto... expect..." Harry slowly lost consciousness before falling to the ground as Professor Lupin got the boggart back into the trunk and he and I both rushed forward as I pulled Harry's head into my lap.

"Here we go." Lupin said kneeling next to us both, "Come on, sit up. Deep breaths. It's all right. I didn't expect you to do it the first time. That would have been remarkable. Here. Eat this you'll feel better." Professor Lupin took some chocolate out of his jacket pocket and handed a piece to Harry.

"That's one nasty dementor." Harry said taking a bite of the chocolate he had just been handed.

"Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. That was a Boggart, Harry. A boggart. The real thing would be worse. Much, much worse." Professor Lupin said as he stood and started relighting the candles around the room. "As a matter of interest, what we're you thinking? Which memory did you choose?"

"The first time I rode a broom." Harry said and I gave him an offended look from not choosing a memory that included both of us or at least our friends.

"Well, that's not good enough." Professor Lupin said turning to look at Harry and I. "Not nearly good enough."

"There's another." Harry said gently pulling away from me and walking towards Professor Lupins candles staring at one in particular, "Its not happy exactly. Well, it is. It's the happiest I've ever felt but it's complicated."

"Is it strong?" Professor Lupin asked as we both started at the raven haired boy in front of us. Who turned and nodded towards our Professor. "Then let's give it a try. You feel ready?"

"Just do it." Harry said nodding slightly and holding up his wand. With that Professor Lupin unlocked the trunk again letting the boggart like dementor out of its cage. "Expecto Patronum! Expecto Patronum" Harry shouted the spell twice before a blue glowing light appeared from his wand holding back the fake dementor making Professor Lupin and I laugh in excitement and cheer for the boy and he got the boggart back into the trunk and the Professor closed it making it lock once again.

"Well done, Harry. Well done!" Professor Lupin cheered for my twin brother.

"I think I've had enough.. for today." Harry said breathing hard.

"Yes sit down. Here, eat this, it helps it really helps." Professor Lupin said as they sat down next to me on the stairs. "And just so you know, Harry, (Y/N), I think you would have given your father a run for his money. And that is saying something."

"I was thinking of him.. and mum." Harry said gently as he laid his head on my shoulder and I wrapped one arm round his shoulder giving him a side hug. "Seeing their faces. They were talking to me. Just talking. That's the memory I chose. I don't even know if it's real, but it's the best I have."

"It's a good memory to use Harry whether it's real or not." I say softly kissing the top of his head before standing. "I think I'm ready to give my turn a go and now that I know the trick hopefully I can do it my first try." I give a confident smirk despite still wondering if I'll pass out the first time like Harry did.

"Alright Miss Potter, let's give it a go then." Professor Lupin said with a smile at me as he got up and I positioned myself in front of the trunk taking out my wand while he stood to the side and slightly behind the trunk like he did with Harry, who was still sitting on the steps a safe distance away to watch.

I nodded at Professor Lupin as I focused on some of my happier memories like the first day we came to Hogwarts, the first Christmas we had here when Draco asked me to be his girlfriend, the first time we really and truly kissed. By the time Professor Lupin had unleashed the boggart dementor I had the memories I wanted that filled me with warmth and happiness as I spoke the spell with power in my voice, "Expecto Patronum!" I called out and a blue light emitted from my wand casting a beautiful doe Patronus that not only shocked Professor Lupin but made him smile greatly as I lowered the dementor back into the trunk and he closed the lid making it latch. Letting out a bread I leaned against the stairs now exhausted from the amount of power the spell took out of me.

"Amazingly done (Y/N), amazingly done! Watching your brother must have helped you at to be able to do it so well and the memories you must have thought of must have been a great happiness for you." Professor Lupin said with a huge smile on his face as he handed me a piece of chocolate.

"I thought of when we first came here to Hogwarts, and of the friends and people I love here and specific memories I have with them." I said smiling with a slight blush on my cheeks immensely proud of what I had done today not noticing the slightly jealous glare of my twin brother.
