Jimin opened the doors to Nora's bedroom and leaned on the wall. She was sleeping soundlessly, chest barely moving. It was time for their training, and Jimin came to wake her up, but something about her peaceful state stopped him. He watched her carefully, at the same time talking himself out of these feelings that he started to develop. You can't be her friend. Friend. Surely, that was all Jimin was feeling. He was worried about her, he wanted to make her strong, he wanted to take care of her. It was simple friendship, the same emotion he felt for the boys. But even so, it still needed to stop. He had to repress everything he felt, because in case anything goes wrong in their plan, she will take all the damage. Jimin rested his head on the frame, debating on how he should wake Nora up.
Sudden banging interrupted Nora's sleep, but this time she didn't jump up. She simply ripped her eyes open and stared at the ceiling, fiery pits from hell burning behind them. She didn't even need to look at the intruder, she felt him. She knew it was Jimin, and she understood that if she'll allow herself to meet his eyes, she will simply chop him in the neck. Nora grabbed a pillow and placed it over her head, while Jimin kept banging the cupboard, yelling that it's time to wake up. I will kill the King, and then I'm gonna kill him.
The following few days dragged on forever. Nora was still training with the boys and she was getting so much better, but the heavy uncertainty kept weighing on everyone's shoulders. News from the Prince had yet to reach them, and with every passing hour the chance of a positive answer slimmed down. It was already lunch time, when Nora was sitting in the inner yard, drinking tea under a tree. Hoseok had to be in the palace today, so she had some free time instead of his classes. Her peace was suddenly interrupted by Jimin, when he plopped not too gracefully next to her.
"What's up?" She asked in the most nonchalant way possible. Jimin leaned his back at the tree and turned to her. "I think we need to start weighing other options. If you haven't received an invitation yet, there's a possibility you will not receive it." Gloom atmosphere hung on Nora's shoulders and she lowered her eyes. Somehow she felt guilty against him, but Jimin quickly calmed her down. "Don't worry too much, we will figure something out." Jimin couldn't help but realize, that he was feeling relief. More and more everyday, he kept thinking about how he'd like a change of plans. Nora looked at Jimin and smiled. They kept looking at each other, lost in their own thoughts, silent seconds ticking away. Jimin couldn't help but lower his eyes to her lips, when the glass doors smacked open.
"Nora!" Hoseok yelled out running to the girl, "I've got a letter! It's from the Prince personally!" His eyes were wide and he was panting. Nora quickly stood up, Jimin followed her. "Why are you so surprised? He would have informed me even if I wouldn't have gotten in, right?" She inquired with a puzzled expression, but Hoseok started to shake his head. "Nora, the Prince doesn't write letters to the candidates. Remember the woman that met you?" Nora quickly nodded. "She is responsible for the whole program. She was supposed to contact the candidates, but you've received a letter from the Prince personally." Nora felt her pulse rising. "Well then give it to me!" She yelled out and Hoseok quickly placed the envelope in Nora's hands. Jimin kept his distance, secretly hoping that the letter will be an apologetic one. Nora ripped the envelope quickly and began to read.
"Miss Nora Park, I wanted to inform you personally, that your candidacy has been accepted. I will be cheering from the sidelines on your success during the trials, highly hoping that you'd come out victorious. I believe that there are a lot of things that we could teach each other, and I will be waiting to once again enjoy your company. Best regards, Jungkook." Nora read the letter out and stood in shock. Hoseok slapped his palm on his mouth and Jimin knitted his brows. Looking at the boys, she realized that they saw something more in the letter than she did.
