Hanging out with A-Troupe after weeks of feeling like he didn't belong with them felt weird to Heath, even after DanceMania.
They were all crowded around one table in the Juice Bar, engaging in different conversations with each other. He could see Izzy sitting on the other side of the room, her favorite pair of pink headphones sitting on her head as she watched something on her phone.
God, she looked adorable like that, her knees pulled up to her chest, one hand gently tugging on a loose curl.
Heath wanted to text her about how adorable she looked, but with Ozzy standing so close to him, he didn't want to risk. Especially since she was his phone background and he didn't want to go through the hassle of explaining that.
Even though the two of them were friends now, their rivalry was still going strong, and Heath didn't want to risk Ozzy finding out about him and Izzy's relationship.
Especially with their three month anniversary coming up soon.
Before he could get too into his head about it, Ozzy elbowed him sharply. "Losing brain cells again Heathcliff?" Heath rolled his eyes, elbowing Ozzy back. "Excuse you. Unlike you, I have all my brain cells."
Ozzy scoffed and before he knew it, they were arguing again, earning eye rolls from the other members of A-Troupe.
After arguing with Ozzy for a moment, the conversation switched again. Kenzie spoke up. "Ok wait I have a question for you boys." Heath raised an eyebrow at her and she rolled her eyes at him before speaking.
"So there's this guy-" Amy and Piper immediately began squealing and Heath snorted. Kenzie waved them off and continued. "We've been talking for a while but I can't tell if he actually likes me or if he just wants to be friends."
The boys all nodded. Lily spoke up, Kingston's arm wrapped around her shoulder. "Just ask him. That way you get your answer straight up." Everyone nodded agreeing.
Despite agreeing with Lily, Heath decided he should give his own opinion as well. "But also look at how he treats you. Does he actually care about the things you're interested in? Does he make time for you? If not, I think you already have your answer."
Kenzie stared at him for a moment before nodding, smiling at him. "Since when did Heath get so smart?" Finn teased and Heath rolled his eyes. He looked over at Izzy who was packing up her stuff and walking over to their table.
"I've always been smart. You guys just didn't want to hear it." Ozzy scoffed, and Heath could see that Izzy had a small smile on her face as she walked over and stood behind her brother.
"Oz. Mom just texted me. She's waiting outside." Ozzy nodded, grabbing his bag off the floor. He waved goodbye to everyone and they all said their goodbyes to the siblings as they walked away.
Heath's phone buzzed in his pocket, and he pulled it out, raising an eyebrow at what Izzy had sent him.
princess izzy: so why is my brother complaining about you knowing too much about dating??
princess izzy: anything you want to tell me 😤
heath: WHAT no
heath: kenz was asking about boy advice so i gave her some lmaoo
Heath looked up from his phone for a moment to see the others now discussing some horror movie Piper and Finn were planning on seeing that weekend. He had no interest in that conversation.
princess izzy: OH okkkk lmaoo
heath: off topic but you looked really cute earlier
princess izzy: 😳
princess izzy: thank uuuu
He smiled to himself. It was always fun making Izzy flustered, especially since she got flustered so easily. Before he could continue teasing his girlfriend, Henry asking him a question brought his attention away from his phone.
"Dude who are you texting? You've been smiling for like ten minutes." Heath could feel himself blushing as he shook his head. "No one. I'm just uh, looking at memes." Lily scoffed, grabbing his phone out of his hand.
"Give that back!" Heath cried out, but Lily held his phone out of his grasp, a shocked look on her face as she looked at him. "Izzy? Like Ozzy's little sister Izzy? Oh my god!" Everyone all gasped and turned to stare at him as he felt himself turn into a tomato.
"Shut up." He grumbled as he finally managed to swipe his phone back, shoving it in his pocket.
"How long have you guys been dating?" Amy asked and Heath scratched the back of his neck before responding. "Almost three months. Two days after we got back from DanceMania."
Finn choked on his mango smoothie. "Wait seriously? Is that why you were asking Henry and I about how to ask out a girl?"
All of the girls started cooing, and Henry burst out laughing at the uncomfortable face Heath was making. "You can't tell Ozzy though! We don't want him to know."
Piper raised an eyebrow, leaning forward on her chair. "Why not?" Heath sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "He's going to turn it into this whole big thing, and how we shouldn't be dating and everything. Besides, I like getting to hang out with Izzy without Ozzy interrupting."
The others all shared a look and Heath groaned. "What?" He asked and Amy patted his shoulder. "Maybe telling him would be a good idea?" Heath shook his head. "Izzy and I have talked about this. Besides, she was the one who wanted to keep things a secret."
Piper and Finn shared a look and Heath groaned again. "Keeping things a secret doesn't typically work out." Amy snorted, nudging her best friend. "You'd know about that huh, right?" Piper gasped, glaring at her and Heath shook his head as he rolled his eyes. "Anyways.... Can you guys promise to not tell Ozzy?"
They all nodded and he let out a sigh of relief, grabbing his smoothie and taking a sip. He looked down at his phone which was buzzing with notifications from Izzy as she texted him.
Keeping this a secret with the others knowing was going to be even harder. He only hoped that him and Izzy could do it.
