September 2nd, 1993
I flipped over in bed once more and pulled the blankets up higher over my shoulders.
"Delacour, wake up!" An unfamiliar high-pitched voice rang in my ears.
I groaned and tossed again. "NO!" I protested.
"Ugh. Fine, you want to be that way. Then be that way." I heard footsteps getting farther away before coming back. "Lets see how you like this."
I flinched as I felt water being sprayed onto my face. I hid under the blankets before they were pulled away from me. The figure pelted my face until I'd had enough. "What the heck!" I yelled, sitting up abruptly. What a great start to the day, I'm already mad. "Brown, what was that for?!" My roommate went over to her nightstand and set the bottle down. She had curly brown caramel colored hair and was already dressed in her robes.
"Well you need time to get ready don't you? I tried being nice, but it just didn't work. You'll thank me later. Oh, and breakfast ends in an hour." Nobody else was in the room other than her, so I decided she was probably right, but she didn't need to be so rude about it. She walked over to her bed across the room and started making it.
I calmed myself down and tiredly sat on the edge of my bed. "Fine. Thanks or whatever. Where's all my stuff?" I turned around and scanned the room for my trunk.
"Oh, somebody brought up our stuff last night. Check the foot of your bed," she said, and pointed at the wooden chest at the foot of the canopy. I maneuvered over to it and sure enough, it was all there. The bottom of the chest must've been bewitched to fit more into it. "I'm going down to the great hall. I suggest you hurry," she said, closing the door behind her.
She seemed like she had good intentions, but did she have to be so pushy?! "...Thanks, I guess..." I mumbled.
I left the dormitory with my bag over one shoulder. I chose to put my hair up in a curly high ponytail, and wore a watch on my left hand, in an attempt to jazz up my uniform. My hands fiddled with the tie around my neck, failing to tie it the correct way. I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going because, as I was walking down the stairs to the common room, I bumped into a girl coming out of her dorm. We both toppled over, our books scattered across the floor.
"Merlin, I'm so sorry!" She apologized, sitting up.
I sat up as well. "Hey, my name isn't Merlin," I joked. She looked at me with a confused expression and continued to pick up her things. "Never mind," I said and handed a book to her. "I'm Louanne Delacour by the way, but you can call me whatever you like." We both stood up and I reached my hand out to her.
She had red hair with a clip in it, and looked about a my age, maybe a year younger than me. "Hello Whatever You Like. I'm Ginny Weasley," she said taking my hand. I laughed. Touche.
"I think I've met your brother already. Ron. Are you two twins?" I asked. We continued down the steps.
"Oh no. I'm a second-year. I wish we were though. It sure would've been easier..." She trailed off.
"Wait! I know you!" Realization dawned on me. She put one eyebrow up. "You were the girl saved by Harry Potter in the Chamber of Secrets last year, right?" She looked down and nodded slowly.
"I didn't mean anything by that, honest. I think it's kind of cool actually." She looked up and shrugged.
"Yeah, it's whatever. I know it wasn't my fault for what happened, but I still feel bad." We arrived in the common room and I saw Hermione, Harry, and Ron next to the fire. I broke away from Ginny and waved goodbye.
