"Can anyone tell me what a boggart is?" Professor Lupin was slowly becoming one of my favorite teachers. We always got to do something fun and interesting. Today we were with a mix of students from all the houses in an empty classroom. The chairs and desks were all pushed to the sides of the room, and there was a wardrobe in the front of the crowd of students.

"A boggart takes the form of whatever it thinks a person's greatest fear is. No one knows what it truly looks like," Hermione said, appearing next to me.

"When did she get here? Did you see her come in?!" Ron whispered to Harry. I pursed my lips hiding back a knowing smile. I leaned to my right, closer to Hermione, still watching the professor.

"Where were you this time?" I asked her, pressing the mandrake leaf to the inside of my cheek.

"Ancient Runes. It's really quite fascinating," she said. I nodded and we returned our attention to the lesson.

"There is a very simple spell to repel a boggart. Repeat after me. Riddikulus! Everybody!" Professor Lupin instructed.

"Riddikulus," we all said in unison.

"This class is ridiculous," I heard Draco mutter. His right arm was still in the sling, even though I was there when Madame Pomfrey told him he could take it off.

"Oh come on, Draco. Scared your boggart will turn into something embarrassing?" I teased. He scoffed.

'Pfft, no." I wasn't convinced, but I didn't press it further.

Lupin needed a volunteer, and when nobody offered, Neville was picked out of the crowd. When asked what he thought his boggart would be, he said he thought it'd be professor Snape. Nearly everybody laughed."Well, now I guess he can be, quite menacing. Now, I believe you live with you grandmother is that correct?" Lupin asked a very flustered Neville.

"Yeah, but I don't want it to turn into her either." The professor nodded and bent down to whisper something in Neville's ear. Neville nodded, and the boggart was released from it's capture. With a swirl, it turned into an exact replica of the potions teacher. "Riddikulus!" He did as he was told, and Snape now appeared wearing a fox-skin scarf, a ridiculous green hat, a horrid outfit, and a red handbag to top it all off.

The class erupted in laughter at the sight.

I was not looking forward to this.

Next up was Padma whose boggart turned into a snake, Parvati's whose turned into a mummy, Ron whose turned into a 6-foot-tall spider, then Seamus who had to face a screaming banshee, and finally Dean whose boggart turned a flopping severed hand.

Now it was my turn.

"Louanne!" Professor Lupin called me up. My stomach did somersaults as I held my wand in my right hand, sweating. I slowly made my way up to the front of the classroom. Dean's mousetrap-caught hand disappeared and was replaced with a body, lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The girl had midnight-black hair, feathered black wings protruding from her shoulders, and a face formed into a beak. I froze for moment. She wasn't even dying. She just laid there, twitching and bleeding out.

My hand shook as I lifted my wand to point it at the boggart. I tried hard not to bite down on my leaf. "...Riddikulus!" With a swirl, the figure stood up, no longer bleeding, and started to transform into a person, but I imagined something else before it could finish. A mirror now stood in front of me. Surely they wouldn't understand what it means. I let out a breath of relief and turned to the professor. "May I use the lavatory please?" He nodded and called up the next student.

Faking calmness, I walked past the class and out the door. Partly trying to convince myself that no one saw it or knew what it was, my thoughts ran rampant. Not all of them were paying attention, surely. They were all just talking to their friends after their turn was over.

When I got outside the door, professor Snape was walking by and gave me a skeptical glare. I just walked past him in the opposite direction, picking up the pace slightly. I turned the corner sharp.

"Louanne?!" A door closed, and I could hear footsteps catching up with me. I kept the steady rhythm of my feet. I didn't speed up.

"Go away, Hermione." A second set of footsteps followed behind her. "And whoever you brought with you." She caught up with me and put her hand on my shoulder, stopping me in my tracks. I turned to face her. "What do you need?" I tried to say it as normal as possible.

"What was that thing, lying on the floor? And why did it turn into a mirror?" She pressed. Before I had to answer, two more Gryffindors appeared next to us.

"Parvati? Lavender? I assume you want to know what happened as well?" They nodded eagerly. "I like looking at myself in the mirror, that's all. And I told you already Hermione, I like secrets. They keep me mysterious. I'm not telling you anything else." I turned around and continued down the corridor to the girl's lavatory. This time they didn't try to stop me, even though I knew they wanted to know more. Who wouldn't? I just don't want a repeat of last year.

(Sorry this one was so short. You'll figure out what happened in her last year in a few chapters hopefully. )
