Continuing on with the last discussion board's theme, I'd like for you all to read an article about climate change in 2020 along with some questions for you all to think about. The article will be linked in the commend section, so be sure to check it out.
Some questions to hopefully prompt some discussion about 2020 being tied as the hottest year recorded in human history and the acceleration of climate change:
1. What are your reactions to this? Do you feel optimistic or pessimistic for the future? How do you think 2021 will go?
2. What changes will you make or at least try to make in 2021 to be more environmental friendly or sustainable? It doesn't have to be large, and even something as small as cutting 5 minutes out of your shower or trench composting some vegetable scraps or replacing your incandescent lightbulbs with LED all contribute to this goal.
3. How will you hold people in power accountable or their lack of action on climate? How can you empower others to take action too? While this seems a bit overwhelming, it doesn't have to be. Some examples include taking a few friends to a beach clean up, writing a letter to your representative in government, or signing up to volunteer for candidates that are running on pro-environment positions for government (even if it's as small as city council).
4. Any other thoughts / reactions / questions?
