*something for your mind by superorganism*

On the train to Hogsmeade, y/n had a horrible stomach ache. Consciously, she knew there was nothing to worry about. But, subconsciously she was terribly anxious for the first day of school.
When y/n first saw Luna at the train station, her heart flipped with joy. Luna had come up to  her and hugged her from behind, giggling with happiness. It meant the world to y/n to see Luna happy in such an expressive way. She could always tell when Luna was happy or sad or confused, but something about seeing it on her face, filled y/n with gratitude.
But now, they sit in a compartment on the train. One earbud in y/n's ear, and one in lunas. Over the two girls laid a soft plush, white blanket, and on top of the blanket was a half-eaten tin of sugar cookies. Luna's father gave these to them to help them along the long train ride to Hogwarts. But, the long ride was no problem for y/n and her best friend, considering they had a lot to catch up on.

"You know y/n" spoke Luna, "I think one thing I especially missed about you was your music. Everyday you come to me with something new, and it never fails to amaze me."

"I missed showing you music, just as much" she responded, "here wait you're gonna love this one"

But before she had the chance to queue the next song, the compartment door slid open. Causing both girls to look up and towards the door in curiosity.

"Hello ladies" George stood in the doorway, hanging on to the wall with one arm, for balance.
Fred stood on the other side and in between the two was Lee Jordan. Lee was tall and lanky. Naturally, he wore a friendly expression at all times. Y/n had never personally met Lee, but she trusted Fred and George's judgment and saw herself becoming close with him in the near future. Considering all things went well.

"Hey guys" she said with a smile.
Y/n watched as Luna disengaged, shifting her attention to out the compartment window. She understood what it must be like for Luna, who was easily stressed out by new people, and y/n simply let her disengage.

"what's up?" She asked.

"we bought you a little something from the trolley" George said, looking towards Fred.

Fred extended his arm towards y/n, holding a small pink tin of peach rings, which he must have remembered was her favorite. Y/n reached her hand out to take it, but in the last second he pulled his hand away.

"under one...condition" he raised his eyebrows with infliction.

"What are you guys up to?" She asked.

The three boys made their way into the compartment and sat in the seats across from y/n. Luna, still disengaged, seemed to be unbothered. They leaned forwards on the green cushion and looked to y/n excitedly.

"This Friday" started Fred, "were throwing a huge 'welcome back' party in the Gryffindor common room"

"ok.." said y/n, wondering how she tied into this accident waiting to happen.

"we're gonna need your, musical expertise to help us make this party, that best it could be"
said George.

All three boys looked at her, flashing puppy dog eyes and waiting for her response. How could she turn them down she wondered.

"Fine"

Lee gave George a high five and they all breathed a sigh of relief.

"...but what's in it for me?" She asked. She noticed that as these words fell out of her mouth, Fred looked her up and down. Meeting her eyes again, and winking. Butterflies fluttered from her throat to her core as she thought back to last night.
