I groaned as I slowly started coming to. I remembered being in the car with Glenn and Maggie, headed the opposite way of home because of that man, Merle. But after that it went blank, he must’ve hit me upside the head in the car before we really got too far. I groaned again as the light that filtered in through the small grimy window well above my reach effected my eyes. I slowly lifted my hand up to my head, touching where it was throbbing and feeling dried blood in my hair. I instinctively looked to my left hand, almost sighing in relief when Daryl’s ring was still there. My body, too tired probably from the nasty blow I took to the head, couldn’t react fast enough to the sound of the door to the room I was being held in slamming open.
I jumped and squinted my eyes as I looked up upon hearing the sound of laughing. “Well would ya look who we got here,” the voice said, “Ms. Elizabeth Grimes. My I thought you’d be dead by now but here you are.” Having a little bit of trouble to start with, my eyes finally focused on the man towering over me. His blurry form gave way to one of two men I never wanted to see in my life again. “P-Philip,” I said as I tried to scoot away from him but he stepped hard on my leg, stopping me instantly. “Hello dear sister-in-law,” he said then held up a finger, “wait, that should be ex sister-in-law. You divorced my younger brother like the little bitch you are.” He moved his foot away from my leg and I attempted to slid away from him but the moment I started moving, my head started getting dizzy and there were spots dancing around in my vision.
“Uh-oh,” he chuckled, “you’re probably wondering what’s wrong. You see, I know how much of a fighter you are especially after my little brother. So getting rid of the risk of you attacking me, I’m gonna keep you pretty drugged up so you can’t fight back. By the way, how is that little niece of mine? Madison I believe her name was.” “Go to hell Philip,” I said as I basically backed myself into a wall trying to get away from him. In that next second, my head was snapped to the left as I felt a hard blow on my right cheek, causing me to momentarily see spots in my vision. As I went to turn my head again to face him, I felt several more blows to my face from his fist until I landed on the floor just waiting for him to stop.
“You took my brother’s daughter away from him,” he shouted at me, “his only child and you took her away from him.” In that next instant, before I could speak back, he kicked me in the stomach. Eight, nine, ten times, over and over again until I was ready to pass out from the pain. As soon as I stopped moving, me slipping in and out of consciousness, he left me to lay along on the hard concrete floor in pain. After he was gone, not but seconds later, I felt something warm flowing down my legs. At first I thought maybe he beat me so bad that I initially peed myself. But when I looked over towards my legs, what I saw broke my heart. I was bleeding, not enough that I’d basically bleed to death but enough where I knew what the hell had just happened. I had been pregnant after all, just like I had feared, but after Philip kicking me over and over again in the stomach, I had lost the baby by miscarriage.
After that I just went in and out of consciousness, refusing to stay away long enough to see the blood on my thighs. Philip, or The Governor as he told me he was called here, would come in a lot with like an hour between times he came in. Every other time he’d have some syringe in his hand and stick it in my arm, making sure whatever drugs he was putting in me stayed in my system. I hated he was keeping me sober enough to keep some consciousness every time he came in, like he wanted me to see myself suffering at his hands. Every time he came in and beat me, the bloodier my entire body got. I couldn’t even tell where the blood was coming from and I just knew I was completely covered. At that moment, I didn’t care that I was leaving my little girl alone, she had Uncle Rick, Daryl, the group to look after her, I just wanted to die.
Almost unconscious with the drugs in my system, I faintly heard the sound of the door opening. “Daryl,” I managed to moan out, hoping it was him coming to rescue me from this hell. I heard their footsteps grow closer to me as my blurry eyes tried to fix on the man in front of me. “What’d you say girl,” the man asked and instantly I knew it wasn’t Daryl, “you know my brother?” My vision managed to clear up enough at that moment as I moved my left hand to my head once I could make out who was in front of me, Merle. I closed my eyes as I felt him grab ahold of my left wrist gently, as if he was looking at the ring on my finger before he let go and walked out abruptly, leaving me alone on the floor once again.
~Daryl~
We had to get my girl back, she could be pissed with me all she wanted but we had to get her away from those people, not knowing what they could already be doing to her. Me, Rick, Oscar, and this girl Michonne who showed up at the prison with the baby formula that Glenn, Maggie, and Lizzie had went to go get set out to find them. Maddie kept asking me just before we left where her momma was. It broke my heart when I told her I wasn’t sure but we’d go bring her back. Leaving her back there with Axel, Hershel, Little Ass-Kicker, Beth and Carl, we headed off towards the direction Michonne told us, straight for a town called Woodbury. I’ll get my girl back, and I’ll never let her out of my sight again as long as I’m still breathing.

This actually hurt to write :( poor, poor Lizzie. Stick with me y'all. It'll get better soon.
