We walked though the doors. Vic was sitting silently on the couch Ariana was standing staring out the back window. It seemed quiet to quiet. Ariana turned to me. Vic glanced up.
"So..." I said breaking the silence, "what went down...."
"Well vic proposed" she started gloomily. Walking over to me I noticed her fighting a smile. He held out her hand showing a fairly large diamond ring on her finger "and I said yes!" My mind went blank. Jenny squealed and gave Ariana a huge. Vic walked over to us, I watched as Ollie gave him a nod of congratulations. Jenny moved from Ariana to vic giving him a huge hug.
"You hurt her I hurt you. Gah this is going to be the best wedding ever!" She squealed again. Ariana was laughing.
"Well Jenny I do have to ask you for something..." Jenny turned to look at Ariana, "will you help me plan?" Jenny gave Ariana a bewildered look.
"Of course!"
"Also...I want you to be my maid of honour." Jenny hugged Ariana again smiling from ear to ear the two girls began talking about all the things that needed to be done. I didn't say a single word I remained silent. Vic shot me a concerned look.
"You alright?" I nodded unable to find my voice. A part of me was hoping Ariana would have said no that maybe just maybe she didnt want to marry him. I knew all along tho that it was a stupid thought. Really I had no one to be upset with other then myself. Maybe once upon a time I would have been able to ask Ariana out, maybe if I had the nerve I would have been able to ask her to be mine. But I never did I was to afraid to lose her and I let that control my every action. Without saying goodbye to anyone I turned and left quietly trying not to be noticed. I got into my car and began to drive. I didn't know where I was driving I didn't know how long I would drive for I just knew I needed out I needed to clear my mind. Ariana the girl I dreamed about having the girl who filled my every thought was now the fiancé of vic Fuentes. Even if I wanted to I couldn't compete with that. He was successful in a band and he wasn't exactly the ugliest man around. I never had her to begin with but this whole marriage thing just confirmed that I would never have a chance. My phone began to ring snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Hello?" I was shocked by how distant my voice sounded to me.
"Nico where'd you go?" Ariana's voice sent butterflies through my body.
"Sorry I uhm I forgot to turn off my oven I think." I lied unconvincingly.
"Nico what's wrong?"
"Nothing Ariana."
"Nico...."
"Just drop it." I said my voice turning cold. Ariana was silent for a bit all. Could hear was her light breathing. I suddenly felt bad about the tone in my voice "I'm sorry I'm just tired I didn't mean to snap..."
"It's okay I understand..." We said our goodbyes and hung up.
The weeks passed by and I didn't talk to Ariana much. I felt foolish to admit it but it hurt. I was happy for her don't get me wrong. She was happy and she deserved that happiness. She deserved to have something good in her life for once. But that's the funny thing about love though you may be happy their happy it'll always hurt to know you can't have them. Yet you can't control who you love... No matter how hard you try to convince yourself you don't love them anymore it just never works that way.
"Nico?" I turned around placing my phone in my back pocket. I had decided to go to the mall just to get out of the house for a bit. Ariana was standing there with Jenny. Without another word she walked up to me and hugged me tightly.
"Haven't heard much from you lately..."
"Sorry I've been busy." I lied. In all honestly I hadn't left the house much I sat there feeling sorry and hating myself.
"We'll...I've been trying to call you..."
"Sorry I haven't had my phone on me much either." I lied once again. I saw every time she tried calling. I saw every messages she sent me asking me to call her back asking if I was okay. I got every single one and it took everything in me each time to not reply. In my mind I thought that if I could manage to distance myself from her for a bit I would be able to convince myself just a bit that I didn't love her, of course it failed miserably.
"We're going dress shopping... Will you come?" She asked snapping me out of my thoughts. I shrugged and nodded. I followed them in my car to a bridal shop. We walked in. There were dresses everywhere all different kinds and shapes. The girls got to work going through the dresses pulling out the ones that Ariana liked and putting them. Her change room. I sat down on a chair that sat in front of a large mirror, no doubt for the girls to see the full dress on. After pulling out a few dresses Ariana disappeared into the change room. She came out wearing a stunning dress. It was strapless and the top is what she called sweetheart style. The bottom proofed out slightly not to much but just enough. There was jewels on the top. She looked gorgeous in this dress. The girl working with Ariana pulled out a veil and placed it neatly in her hair. I stared at her in awe she turned away from the mirror and looked at me.
"You look stunning." I said still staring at her in complete awe. She looked gorgeous in this dress. Ariana had tears in her eyes. I got up quickly "no crying did I say something wrong? I'm sorry no cryin." Ariana giggled as a tear rolled Down her face and she shook her head.
"You didn't do anything wrong nico." I wiped the tear from her cheek as she spoke "I'm just so nervous I'm scared. Do you thing hell look at me the same way you did?" She turned and faced the mirror. Something came over me I didn't know what it was but suddenly I felt the need to make sure her wedding day was perfect. I had to make sure everything went smoothly I was prepared to do everything that had to be done to make her wedding day the best day of her life. I looked at the mirror standing close behind her.
"He will be speechless when he sees you." I smiled. Ariana turned around again and gave me a kiss on the cheek. She turned to look at Jenny who was staring at her in awe.
"It's gorgeous! You look gorgeous!" Ariana turned back to face the mirror and nodded.
"I think it's the dress." She disappeared into the change room. I pulled Jenny to the side.
"Get me that dress I'm paying." Jenny didnt argue with me she knew she wouldn't win. She walked into the change room and told Ariana some made up lie about needing to get the dress checked out to make sure all jewels were fixed on it. She came out and handed it to me. I paid for it and waited for Ariana to come out. I handed her the dress when she finally did and the receipt. She looked at the dress then to me.
"Oh my god nico! You didn't have to buy it!" She punched me lightly on the shoulder. Though she wasn't exactly pleased I knew she wouldn't fight me on it. I spent the rest of the day with them before heading home. Te weeks passed by and eventually turned into months. Ariana and vic were busy planning everything they had a set date and tried their hardest to keep it out of the tabloids until it was over. They didnt want any unwanted paparazzi to ruin their day. I promised Ariana that I'd keep an eye out that day for unwanted guests.
"Nico!" I heard my front door slam open, "nico!" I peaked my head around the corner coming face to face with Ollie and Ariana. Ariana was smiling evilly and Ollie looked nervous.
"Why yes I'm free come in." I said sarcastically at the point that they just barged in.
"Don't complain and come with me. I-" she stopped and corrected herself "we need your help with something."
"With what?"
"Shut up and come with us." Ariana said annoyed by my hesitation to come "either you come willingly or I throw a bag over your head kick your ass and throw you in the trunk you choice." She smiled. I let out a loud sigh and followed the two out. Ollie was quiet the whole time. We pulled up outside a restaurant. When we got inside I noticed it was completely empty. It was odd considering the fact that it was about time for dinner this place was normally really busy. Ariana disappeared and came back with an older woman.
"I need you to teach him face and explain everything." Ariana grabbed ollies hand and dragged him away. The old lady looked at me and started telling me everything that was about to happen.
