"Open it," Derek said. "I think you might like it."
slowly opening up the box I see brown and black and heard a soft meow.
"you got me a kitten!" I exclaim, picking up the soft, small body.
"Yea, your mom and I feel bad that you are an only child, so we got you something to keep you company." Derek explained with a smile.
"Thanks Derek," I smiled back, "now I just need a name."
"well I'll leave you to find a name, good luck." he said patting my knee twice before getting off my bed and exiting my room.
"wait Derek! is it a boy or a girl?" I shouted before he walked around the corner.
"it's a boy, we need to also get him fixed when he's a bit bigger." he told me.
"ok. thanks again." he nodded back as he left.
"hey buddy." I say to the small kitten petting him under his chin.
he purrs in response.
"you need a name." I breathed under my breath.
