Three days later..
Adrianna pulled into Bucky's grandparents driveway. Her parents had texted her that morning to be there at 2PM. They had some things to discuss with her as a family. When she read the text she rolled her eyes. Despite the fact that her and Bucky are no longer friends their parents continued their friendship.
The maid lead her out back where everyone was sitting on the back deck. Eugenie handed her a Cosmo drink.
"Thank you Eugenie." She said as her grandmother made her way to her.
"My darling. I never got a chance to tell you that you looked lovely the other night." Phyllis said as they shared a hug.
"Thank you grandma.." she said
She found herself a seat after she said hello to everyone but Bucky. They enjoyed their afternoon as it was a warm June afternoon. After a few cocktails they had a early dinner of sushi and sushi rolls. Once they were all done with the sushi.
"Now on to the real reason why we had you two come out here." James Sr said
Everyone was beginning to eat their strawberry cheesecake.
"As you know me and Maxwell here have retired. So that has left a lot of positions open..but we have some house cleaning to do before we move anything around. With that being said..if they two of you want to the CEO positions you have worked hard for. Then you two are to get married first." James Sr said
"Who?" Bucky said
"The only two people at this table that aren't married." Eugenie said
"You want me to marry him? Oh god no! We hate each other he is dead to me! So no I will not marry him." Adrianna said as she stood up.
"What she said..you can't do this. You promised me that position would be mine when I was done. I had whole business plan and management team planned out.." Bucky said
"I did too! Daddy?" She said
"Adrianna baby calm down. We are merging the companies together we can't have the whole company under the Barnes logo without you being a Barnes too. It's not that big of a deal James and you use to get along. You two use to be best friends.." Deacon said
"You.." she said as she started cry.
"Adrianna honey.." Yvonne said as she ran out the door crying.
"I won't marry her. We hate each other..and besides that I have a girlfriend.." Bucky said as he walked out.
By the time Adrianna reached her apartment she went from hurt that her dad did this behind her back to pissed off. She slammed the door to her apartment as she came in she began to pace and mutter.
"Adrianna what's wrong? Did you two get into it at the dinner?" Natasha said
"You won't believe what my family and his family has done! They want us to get married before they will let me be CEO. Something about merging as one and it being part of Barnes and Co. I just can't believe that they would do this to me.." she said without taking a breathe.
In Brooklyn Bucky was slamming doors as he came through the door. He went into kitchen slamming things.
"Dude you alright?" Sam said
"No sam I am not alright. My family is being ridiculous! They just informed me that the only way I'll get to take over the company is for me and Adrianna to get married! Cause they are merging her family's company with my family's." Bucky said as he threw his bottle cap from his beer on the counter.
"Seriously? Do they live under a rock?" Clint said
"They don't care." Bucky said as he walked off drinking his beer.
Steve and the boys looked at each other.
"What the hell?" Sam whispered
"I mean I get it they want the two top CEOs to be a Barnes cause he would look weird. But damn forcing them isn't the way to be." Clint whispered
"I know." Steve whispered
Back at the girls place Adrianna locked herself in her room as she cried herself to sleep. Back at his grandparents house.
"They'll come around eventually. If they want it as bad as they do they will come to their senses." Maxwell said
"I hope so." Deacon said to his dad.
"Me too." James said as they all said their good byes.
