VICTORIAS POV:

The car ride home was awkward and uncomfortable. For me, at least.

Lauren had the time of her life while I sat there picking at my nails. Although the family tried their best to make me comfortable, even the birds outside felt the tension.

Besides from Clara and Mike, Taylor was the only person that gave me the time of day. It'd seemed that Lauren forgot who I was, however, she was too hung up on her friends to realise.

Chris was a sweetheart, though he tends to hang out with Lauren, as a result, I keep my distance.

It seemed to me that Lauren and Taylor had a falling out, I had always assumed they were close, but I'd only seen them talk around twice. I liked Taylor, she seemed genuine.

Not that Lauren wasn't, Lauren just gave me the 'I'll drop you if I find someone better' vibe. You know?

Clara and Mike brought me to my room, the door slowly creaked open. I wasn't expecting anything special, nothing more than a bed and few drawers to keep my belongings in.

When the door opened fully, my jaw went with it.

I had to shake my head a few times before taking the room in. In the middle sat a queen bed, with a large, cushioned headboard, two mirrored bedside tables either side, a large closet to one side of the room and a vanity on the opposite side where the window sat.

This wasn't a room, this was a palace. And it was mine.

I turned to them as a tear left my eye for what felt like the 100th time today. I smile, "Thankyou," I whisper.

"Anything for you Victoria," whispers Clara. "I know this is what my sister would've done for one of my children,"

That hit like a ton of bricks.

Before I knew it, I had collapsed in her arms and started crying, this woman, was my mother's sister. By blood, I was related to her, the closest thing I had to a mother, was currently wrapped in my embrace.

Taylor shows me her room, it suits her perfectly. We both flop on her bed in sync. She lets out a large breath.

"Tay?" I only get a small grunt in return.

I turn my body so I'm facing her. "What's up?"

"The sky," she states boringly. I roll my eyes.

"Not liter-"

"Well, technically the roof, but the sk-"

"TAYLOR"

"Whaaaaaattttt?" she drags out.

"I mean what's BOTHERING you,"

"Oh," is all I get in return.

"So.." I try to fish.

"So?"

Is she for real right now? "So, what is wrong?" I state as simple as possible, as if I were talking to a kindergartener.

"Does Lauren ever talk about me?" she questioned.

"In what sense?" I respond with.

"You know," she turns to face me, the both of us now laying on our sides. "Does she ever speak about me? To you? Or the girls?"

"Well," I try to think. Is Taylor actually going to tell me why her and Lauren are so weird around each other?

Before I could speak, three knocks are heard throughout the room. The door opens and reveals Chris.

"Sorry to interrupt," he coughs. "But, uh, Lucy's here and she wanted to say hi, Taylor. Don't worry Vic, she'd like you as well."

Lucy Vives? I start to ponder. Though I simply smile in return.

"Thanks Chris, just give us five minutes," Taylor says before the door shuts quietly behind him.

"Prepare to put your fake face on,"
