"y/n?" he asks, his voice soft.

"yes, draco?" i respond, running my fingers through his silky blonde hair.

he breathes heavily and peers at the window. rain has been pullulating and dripping down the now fogged glass for hours.

"would you like to go out? only for a bit." he murmurs into my hair.

"sure, let me put on my trench coat, though." i reply.

"no, no, we shall go out like this. its just a little water." he says, pulling himself away from the couch.

"alright, if thats what you want darling." i giggle sweetly.

i get up off of the couch and stretch my arms. draco does the same. i walk over to the balcony, and unlock the door. i slide the glass ingress open, allowing some rain to fall into the apartment and onto the floor.

i step outside onto the stoop, and close my eyes, letting the stream of rain hit my face. draco comes out as well, and holds onto the railing of the balcony, fixing his eyes on the life below. people about their day, umbrellas opened, pigeons scrounging for any crumb they can find, cars upon cars making their way through the traffic in the heavy rain.

draco takes my hand and spins me around. he pulls me close to him, and we are entwined in each other. rocking back and forth we listen to the sound of the city. the sound of the rain. the sound of each others breathing, and our heartbeats.

i could never ask for more in life.
