Weeks flew by and Elza started to find being away from Daniel easier and easier the more time passed. It was already half way of November. The last time Elza had spoken with Daniel was over a week ago and even though Daniel was still waiting for Elza to finish her job, the relationship between two of them had changed. It was exactly what Daniel had feared, that their bond wouldn't be strong enough to make it trough four months apart after seeing each other only two times. However Elza's thoughts about her work and life had changed. She had decided to go on with the plan her father had come up with regardless of what was going to happen between her and Daniel. The days spent with Daniel, Elza had realized she wanted something different from her life. For all her life she had made decision that made sense and were rational. That's how she was. After returning back to work over two months ago, she couldn't find the passion for her job anymore. The fire she once had, was gone. Elza entered to the office on a rainy Friday morning. It was 22nd of November. Anna was already sitting at her desk typing something on her laptop.
"Good morning Anna," Elza waived at her co-worker.
"Hi Elza. What a horrible weather," Anna looked up from her computer and smiled at her friend.
"I know, it feels like a storm. Hey are you busy right now? Can I have a word with you in one of the conference rooms?" Elza had decided to tell her colleague what was going on. She didn't want her to find out from someone else. She wasn't even worried telling about Daniel anymore, she just wanted to be the one to tell Anna she was leaving the company.
"Is everything alright? Have I messed up something?" Anna immediately stood up and walked over to Elza's desk.
"Of course you haven't, I just want to tell you something."
"You're not pregnant, right?" Anna gave Elza a curious look.
"That's funny, no I'm not. I'll grab a cup of coffee for myself and I'll meet you in the 'Vision', I think that one should be free," Elza walked to the kitchen and poured some coffee for herself and made her way to the conference room. She closed the door behind her and sat down next to Anna who was already sitting in the small room.
"Oh man. Where do I even began?" Elza wasn't sure if she was ready to have this talk with Anna.
"You're making me worried Elza."
"It's nothing bad, I just want you to hear this from me."
"Okay, tell me," Anna leaned her back to the chair.
"So, my summer holiday. Yeah, well it kinda changed everything," Elza started carefully.
"What do you mean?"
"Remember when you joked about the rich French man?"
"Umm, yes, that was a joke," Anna had no idea where the conversation was going.
"I know but the thing is, I actually met someone. Only he's not French. He's Australian."
"Hold on, I'm confused. What are you trying to say? You never mentioned anything about, well anything to be honest."
"I'm leaving the company," Elza just wanted to get that part out.
"What?!" Anna basically yelled. Good thing the glass walls in the room were soundproof.
"Shit Anna, my life is completely mess at the moment."
"You gotta tell me more than this, what you're saying is making absolutely no sense at all."
"The guy I met. Do you happen to know anything about Formula 1?" Elza had no clue if Anna knew anything about the sport. They had never talked about the topic at work.
