Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That's what people keep telling us all the time, righ? Well, when you lived in the Ricciardo farm, breakfast was usually a boring smoothie. Breakfast is overrated. That's what Daniel and Michael told Elza on her first morning in Perth when she was feeling hungry as a lion. Blake however understood Elza's hint, which was look that could kill, quite well and brought her a big mug of coffee and scrambled eggs and toasts. After that morning, Elza had started to make her own breakfast and she usually fixed the smoothies for the guys before they headed to their daily training sessions. But this specific Friday morning was special. So special that Elza had woke up 7 am just make sure she was up before Daniel. Daniel usually woke up before her but last night Elza was already asleep when Daniel had climbed under the covers so it was no wonder if he felt tired this morning. She headed quietly to Blake's bedroom door, knowing that he was very much asleep but she was feeling brave and she was willing to handle the grumpy Blake for the rest of the day. Blake did not appreciate early wake up calls. Elza knocked to the door and opened it slowly.
"Blake?" Elza waited for a second before she heard some sleepy mumbles coming from under the blankets. "Sorry to wake you up, I just wanted to ask if-,"
"It's done, now good night," Elza smiled when she heard Blake's answer.
"Thanks Blake," Elza thanked the Aussie and closed the door before tiptoeing to the kitchen. Let's make some breakfast then, she thought.
After two cups of coffee and forty five minutes Elza was holding a tray in her hands that was loaded with two plates of pancakes, berries and two cups of hot coffee. It was 7:45 am. Elza made her way back to the bedroom she shared with Daniel and opened the door with her feet. Daniel was laying in the bed, his left arm resting in the empty spot next to him. He looked so peaceful. Elza was also feeling peaceful. After the meltdown few weeks earlier Elza had slowly started to feel better again. Daniel had loved her "art" and even though it took like three hours of convincing that it wasn't just because they were dating, Elza had finally believed him. Now she was making designs that Daniel could use when the pandemic situation would get better and they'd be ready to drop out some new stuff on his collection. Daniel had also suggested that Elza could help him design his helmet for the next season which made Elza beyond excited about life once again. Of course she should have known that things would work out. With Daniel they always did or at least that's how Elza really felt like.
"Knock, knock," Elza said and made her way carefully to the bed with the tray making sure the coffee wasn't spilling all over the place. Daniel moved his body a bit and opened his eyes just enough to see what was happening in front of him.
"Am I smelling coffee?" His lips curved into a smile as he closed his eyes again. Elza put the tray down to the footstool that was placed at the end of the king size bed. Then she sat down next to Daniel touching his bare chest gently.
"Congratulations for signing the deal. I'm very happy for you and so proud of you," Elza leaned down to kiss the sleepy man. She couldn't explain how happy she was for Daniel. The deal with McLaren felt like a long time coming. She knew Daniel loved the McLaren brand itself and now, in just eight months, he would be part of the iconic British team.
"Thank you babe," He pulled Elza down on top of him hugging her before looking properly what his girlfriend had carried to the bedroom. "Is this for me?" Daniel pointed at the tray smiling widely when he saw the sweet pancakes.
"Yes, I wanted to do something nice for you... Also we haven't had a pancake breakfast since Monaco. "
"Why are you so perfect?" Daniel planted more kisses on Elza's tanned skin. "You're too perfect."
