Alanora's POV:

We were to leave as soon as we came back from Kings Landing. Part of me felt that my sister was only sending me in hope I wouldn't return, but the other part of me knew it was because she trusted me.

The boats were ready as we made our way down the steps of Dragonstone. Ser Jorah and Dany were having a few words. I honestly felt bad for the old knight. He loved my sister dearly, but she'd never be able to return that love. It wasn't fair to him.

"Be safe your grace." Tyrion looked up at me. "I still don't think you should be going."

"Oh lighten up Tyrion. I'll be fine and I have Ser Jorah with me." I slightly smiled at the man. "I plan to piss off the wall like you did." I joked, forcing him to chuckle a little. We said our goodbyes and I saw Dany approaching me.

"Your grace." I looked away down at my feet.

"Nora... come back alive." Dany said solemnly. I didn't reply as it was time to go. I joined the men and helped push the boat into the water before hopping in.

It'd take the rest of the night for us to reach Eastwatch-by-the-sea. The ship was quiet and eerie as we glided along the water. Every passing hour I could feel the air growing colder around me as we traveled North.

"You should rest." Ser Jorah walked up to me. I had yet to sleep and we'd be there soon.

"You know I don't need much. I could stay awake for days." I whispered.

"Trust me I know how you are." He gave a small smile. "Me on the other hand, I am old. Try and get some rest." He placed a hand on my shoulder before walking below the deck.

I didn't know how to feel about what we were about to do. I wanted to believe that this was all a joke. Was it a façade to trick Dany into losing Westeros? The wight-walkers were nothing but an old wives tell, but the looks on Ser Daavos and Jon Snow's faces throughout the night made me believe otherwise.

My breath was slowly becoming visible under the light of my lamp, and the moon had now passed its peak. Everyone had already gone below deck except for me, the captain, and one other face.

"Can't sleep?" I walked over to the young man leaning over the side of the ship.

"I do better on land." Gendry chuckled. He looked rather pale and sickly.

"As do I. I had never been on the water until we crossed the Narrow Sea." I said. I leaned over the side and looked at the water. It was pitch black like an endless pit, except for when it ripples and showed the light from the moon.

"Do you miss it?" He looked over at me.

"Miss what? Slavers Bay?"

"You grew up there didn't you?"

"Do you miss Fleabottom?" I looked at him and he laughed.

"Point made." He replied.

"I was born on a ship just ways out from Dragonstone and then raised in the Free Cities. When my sister married Khal Drogo we roamed around for about two to three years in his khalasar. Then my sister went on her mission to free Slaver's Bay. I guess you could say I've never stayed in one place long enough to miss it." I whispered and looked back into the water.

"Do you think you could stay in one place long enough to miss it?" Gendry asked.

"I go wherever Dany goes... I don't think I get much say in the option."

"But what if you did?" He whispered. I almost laughed at the question, but I was slightly taken aback. I had never thought about it before.

"I've never given it much thought actually. I'd probably settle down on a small farm with some horses. Live the rest of my life in silence." I smiled. "And what about you?"
