Introduction;
The Meet
Dustberry
~
"Maybe he loved me as he took me by the hand and tried to understand.."

Dust sighed as he wandered out of the empty Snowdin of his AU. He was currently waiting for the human to appear again, deciding to venture to the exit of the Ruins to meet them there. Even though the human was coated in flowers at this point and struggled to move, he had to keep killing them for everything they did. To his friends, to.. to Papyrus- Everyone. As he approached the exit of the Ruins, he paused as he saw a smaller skeleton move out from it instead of the kid he was expecting. They were dressed in blue colored clothes, as well as grey. That was odd, he thought he was the only one left. The skeleton seemed to have the same illness the kid had; there was a large, gaping hole in their skull, but flowers filled it and seemed to sprout from it. It reminded him of Horror. The skeleton was rather small and seemed confused and anxious as their head tilted around the open space of the Underground. The skeleton looked familiar- but he wasn't sure where  he'd seen the other. He shuffled into the surrounding forest to approach closer to the small skeleton as they moved away from the door into the Ruins hesitantly. He watched as the smaller's boots stamped into the snow, lightly crunching the crisp, cold substance on the ground under them. Dust noted how the skeleton looked oddly similar to himself; he was aware of the AUs, of course, he was paired up with a bunch of other versions of himself. The blue scarf around the other skeleton seemed to chafe their neck- It dawned on Dust suddenly; the realization hitting him as if he just got struck in the soul. Blueberry!? What had happened to him? How did Blueberry get that bash in his skull? Where did the flowers come from? Dust paused his thoughts. Why  was Blueberry here of all places? In this AU? When he knew Dust was here? Were the rest of the Stars here as well? Blueberry seemed nervous and looked like he arrived alone; but Dust was still hesitant. Dust waved his magic, drawing up some of his bones, gazing over the pointed tips for a moment before focusing on Blueberry again. He intently focused on the smaller skeleton as he stepped away from the door to the Ruins, his attention wandering the forest with interest and unease. Dust took the opportunity, teleporting himself in front of Blueberry and swiftly surrounding the smaller with a cage of pointed bones, the ones he summoned earlier pointing at the inside; at the edges of the cage. Blueberry let out a yelp of surprise and almost tumbled backwards, his eye widening as he noticed what he was incased by, panic quickly surging through his marrow. Blueberry lifted his head to see who had captured him, blinking as he saw Dust standing there- having to take a second as he wasn't used to only using one eye- the other covered by the flowers sprouting from the gigantic crack in his skull.

"Hey, h-hey!- I'm not here to harm you, I promise!" Blueberry impulsively spoke, waving his hands in defense but also fear, lowering his gaze from Dust for a few moments before lifting his head up once more to make eye contact with the much  taller skeleton. Blueberry was frozen in place from fear; he was currently vulnerable because of the sudden sprouting of flowers in his skull, the whole injury and the fact none of the other Stars were with him, if Dust were to land good blows on him while he was alone and vulnerable like this, he would be dead in minutes. Blueberry quivered under the sharp and tense gaze of the taller skeleton, not ready for a fight, nor looking for one.

Dust carefully inspected Blueberry; this would be the perfect kill right now. He could tell Boss he knocked down one of the Stars with ease; the tactic would be to get them alone. But, something made him pause. His soul lurched with an unknown emotion at the thought of killing the smaller skeleton- for some reason he felt compelled to let him go. Before he could do that, he had to get clarification and confirmation; watching the quivering skeleton as he spat out. "What in Asgore's name are you doing here? You know this is my AU, why come here?" Blueberry blinked and seemed to shrink down at the aggressive tone from Dust- Dust silently noted how vulnerable Blueberry looked. "I-I don't know- I didn't even come here on my own- I just.. suddenly appeared in the flowerpatch.." Blueberry's voice shook and broke a few times when he spoke, fear, Dust could assume. "You really think I'm going to believe that?" Dust sneered out the words- He didn't think Blueberry would suddenly teleport here and forget about it, with how the smaller skeleton could always retell almost everything he's ever done in his entire life. He watched as Blueberry's eye widened, a whimper coming from him which made Dust's soul lurch again- but he brushed it off as Blueberry started hurriedly speaking. "N-No! I promise, I d-didn't come here by will! I-" Dust gripped onto Papyrus' scarf that was hanging around his neck, growling lowly. "Calm down! Speak normally, damn." Dust hissed down to Blueberry— something in him couldn't stand to see Blueberry like that, mainly because it was annoying, but something else..— Dust shook off the thought and focused on Blueberry, who shrunk under the aggression and nodded. Dust watched as Blueberry took in some breaths, and then continued shakily speaking. "I-I was just talking to the Stars.. and the next moment I blinked- I ended up.." Blueberry looked around, "here.." Dust let out an annoyed sigh. "And how in the hell did you end up with those flowers?" The question was nagging him ever since he saw Blueberry, slowly lowering the sharp bones pointed at the cage, but kept himself alert in case of a surprise attack. Blueberry shook his head, seeming slightly calmer when Dust lowered his bones. "I.. I don't know that either, they appeared when I arrived.." Dust let out a huff; odd. He hesitantly released Blueberry from the cage of bones, letting the objects disappear into whiffs of magic. Dust grumbled under his breath, did he really have to keep Blueberry here with him? "Are you able to go back?" Dust growled lowly; inspecting Blueberry. On closer look, a ring of flowers stretched from the other's shoulder to his hip, wrapping around his small form, and a flower crown lay atop his head; almost complimenting the blossoming flowers from his cracked skull. All of the flowers were golden in color, much like the flowers at the flowerpatch. Blueberry shook his head. "I tried to get back to the Stars once I realized where I was.. but- I can't. I can still summon my attacks, so it's not something with my magic.." Blueberry huffed in defeat. Dust sighed, "Well, you'll have to stay here then.. I guess." He shrugged, motioning with his head as he turned and started walking back to Snowdin. He heard Blueberry's boots crunching the snow as he rushed to catch up. As Blueberry drifted into his peripheral vision, he noticed the smaller skeleton shaking. He gazed over Blueberry's clothes and assumed he was cold, but why would he care? "Dust.. I- I fully expect you to refuse this question," Dust paused and looked over as Blueberry started speaking, "but.. Uh- Can I- Can I have your scarf? Just until we get to Snowdin- Please? I'm not really fit to be in the Underground right now, and I just- think it would do better than what I have currently." Dust's eyes widened and he felt rage and surprise twist and contort his soul. What was Blueberry thinking; just having the authority to ask that?! This wasn't Blueberry's happy and shiny AU, this was his  AU, where Frisk killed his entire family and all of his friends over and over again for no reason at all! Dust focused back on Blueberry, about to snap at him and tell him to get over himself, but... As he saw Blueberry's quaking form and expecting expression, his soul once again lurched. After a few more moments of silence, Dust finally hissed. "You do anything to it, and I'll have your soul." Blueberry's eye glowed and he beamed up to Dust. "Promise! I, the magnificent Sans, promise to keep it safe on our journey to Snowdin!" The familiar catchphrase from the smaller made the ghost of a smile hint at Dust's face, slowly and hesitantly stripping the scarf from his neck and wrapping it around Blueberry's neck when the other had taken his own scarf off. Blueberry walked close to Dust once they continued their way, and Dust had to take a second as he felt a soft grip on his hand; Blueberry's gloved bones were holding onto Dust's hand. Dust didn't say anything, and silently continued on their way.. Something inside his soul jumped, filling him with relaxation the entire way to Snowdin.
