"Nothing much, but befriended two new students from Minneapolis High," I replied.
"Are their names Shawn and Terence by any chance?"
"Yeah, how'd you know them?"
"I use to go to school with them before they got transferred."
"You guys must've been close."
"Yeah, Shawn's like a cool sister while Terence's a big brother that shows off when it comes to music."
"And a show-off he is."
"You heard him sing?" She surprisedly asked.
"Yeah, he's in my music class. He's cool, ....cute."
"Cute?"
I blushed in embarrassment at what I've just said out loud about Terence. Why did I say that?

"Does my cousin has a crush on Terence?"
"Well..." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Yeah, you're sprung. Sprung for Terence Howard. I can see it now, Mr. & Mrs. Terence Howard."
"I just met him, Sierra."
"And?"
"I barely know him."
"Y'all better start hooking up before some thang snatches him from you."

"Girl isn't that what I just told you?" Jayla said after I told her and Brook what Sierra did last night.
"Yeah, and like I said before, we just met."
"I can't believe she called Shawn and told her that you have a crush on her brother, who's also feelin' the say way about you." She went on.
"And speaking of him, guess whose comin' this way?" Brook spoke before all three of us turn to see Terence and Shawn walking our way.
"Hey, girls," Shawn greeted us.
"Hey, Shawn," We greeted back.
"Hey, Audrey." He greeted me.
"Hey, Terence," I greeted him back shyly.
"My brother was wonder if you'd give him a call sometime." Shawn spoke for him.
"She'd love that." Jayla spoke up.
"I can speak for myself."
"Girl, you'll take forever to speak. Now exchange numbers and kiss."
"Jay!" Brook and I yelled at her to stop.
After we both exchanged numbers, we talked amongst ourselves until my ride came. While riding home, I laughed to myself at how not only my cousin, but my friends wanted me to hook up with Terence. I'll admit that he's cute, funny and talented. As I'm still in my thoughts, my cell phone rang, letting me know that I've received a text message. It was from Terence to tell me hi. I laughed and replied back to him.
"Texting that boy, kiddo?" Kirk asked while watching the road.
"Yes, but he's a friend I met a few days ago."
"As in boyfriend?"
"No, just new friends."
"Alright, just new friends." He chuckled.

While finishing up my homework, I hear a knock on my bedroom door. Looking up, I see Dad leaning in the door frame.
"Hey, Dad,"
"What's his name?"
"What's whose name?"
"That boy you were talking with when Kirk pulled up at the school."
Of course Kirk told him.
"He's a new student."
"That's not telling me what his name is."
"His name is Terence Howard. He transferred from Minneapolis High, and... I we have a few classes together."
"Oh, Lord it's happening." He dramatically said, falling out on my bed.
