KAREN'S CAFE, THE ONE PLACE JOSETTE—Josie Cameron has always spent her days inside whether she was working or not. The Cafe was filled with memories when she and her two best friends, Lucas Scott and Haley James spent their time together. Luckily for her, Karen Roe, Lucas' mom, offered her a job as a waitress and Josie accepted, wanting to start working for her college money.

Josie wiped down the counter top with a towel, hearing the ding above the door she looked up to find none other than her blonde-haired best friend, Lucas Scott, with a basketball in hand.

"Hey mom." Lucas greeted his mom, before turning around to flip the 'open' sign of the cafe to show that it was close. "Hey Josie."

"Hey, hon." Karen greeted her son with a smile on her face, while Josie sent him  a wave.

Karen Roe, was pregnant with Dan Scott's child—he later abandoned her and Karen raised Lucas by herself without any help from Dan's money. Luckily she had Keith Scott, Lucas' uncle, to help her out when she needed it, and she managed to have a cafe in Tree Hill.

"It smells good in here." Lucas looked at his mother, noticing something was different, "Did you change your hair?"

Karen chuckled, "If by changed you mean, 'dragged a brush through it, then yeah.'"

Josie lightly chuckled, as Karen walked away with two bowls, leaving the best friends time to talk. Josie looked at him, "So, how was the game?"

Lucas spends his nights at the River Court playing basketball with some of his friends. Josie never questioned why he didn't try out for the Tree Hill Ravens—their school's team, he had the skills but she had a guess on why he didn't, and that was Nathan Scott and Dan Scott.

"I won." Lucas replied, with a smile. The basketball was on the ground.

"The magazine pages are sticky again. Little pervs." Haley James commented, walking out of the kitchen, a magazine in her hands before looking up at Lucas, "Oh, hey, Luke. You've been reading this?"

Lucas observed the magazine she held up, "Is that the 'why do I hang out with these people's issue?" Lucas asked, glancing at his two best friends, "Because you're both on the cover of that, right?"

Haley rolled her eyes, teasing him, "No, actually, it's the 'my best friend is an idiot' issue and there you are."

Haley James, Josie's first ever friend since the age of five. The two have been inseparable ever since, Josie got used to her sarcastic remarks and Haley got used to her selflessness. At the age of six, the two befriended Lucas and that's when the trio became inseparable and they wouldn't have it any other way.

"Haley, Josie, would you like to join us?" Karen asked the girls, preparing to have dinner with Lucas.

"Hell yes." Haley answered, putting the magazine down and making her way to grab a bowl and serve her food.
