[Peter's POV]

Tony was taken inside HQ and up to the hospital wing to rest. He was completely unconscious when they'd pulled him out of the ship. But he was alive. And that was relief in it of itself. However, he also wasn't the only individual we found on the ship. I recognized the other individual, too, however. She was Gamora's sister, I think. And I'm fairly certain Gamora was the name of Peter Quill's girlfriend who lost her life due to Thanos's determination to obtain all the Infinity Stones.

That's what I think happened, anyways. I could be mistaken.

Meeting the Guardians seemed like it had happened just yesterday. But to think, it's truly been a few week or so. That seemed beyond crazy. It's probably because time is different in the Quantum Realm.

Carol Danvers had left almost as abruptly as she had arrived. Claimed that she had more pressing matters to attend to. And I wasn't too sure if I wanted to know whether or not she was telling the truth. What could be worse than Thanos? It was almost impossible to think of anything.

Evening had fallen rather quickly, meaning that (Y/N), Thor, and myself had to go meet up with Loki in the garden. And, if I was being completely honest with myself, I was almost dreading it. Actually, no, I was definitely dreading it.

(Y/N) and I walked out of the facility, hand in hand, to meet Thor at the back door. He was already pacing, meaning that he had been worrying about this all day. Then again, he had many reasons to be worried. We all knew that this was going to be a disaster; though, we weren't quite certain of the details.

"Okay, I need you to let me do the talking, alright? Loki is going to attempt to deceive and betray every single one of us. We need to remain a unified force and not let him come between us. Understand?" Thor instructed as the two of us nodded, (Y/N) gripping onto my hand as if it was the only thing tethering her to the planet. And perhaps it was.

I knew she was going through a lot. It was only a few weeks ago that she'd been abducted by her biological parents and placed under some intense mind control. During that time, she displayed that she possessed powers that we still don't quite understand. And she's the only Avenger who's unaware of the fact that she has these abilities. Then the Snap happened. MJ and I were taken and she had absolutely no clue what was going on. Mentally, she must be a train wreck. Yet, here she was, yearning to mend her mistakes and step in the correct direction. I admire her far more than she could ever know.

"Let's go," Thor demanded, leading the way out into the garden.

The sky was an abyss of black, seeming like an infinite and endless void that could suck you in and leave your soul absolutely destroyed. The splatter of stars, both brilliant and dim, were absolutely breathtaking; shining glimmers placed there to represent hope and joy. In a way, it was like drifting off into nothing. In a way, it seemed like the destination at the end of the road. In a way, it was a joyous future. In every other way, it seemed like a vast nothingness. Yet, here we are, feeling as if the balance of every planet, star, race, and spaceship was being placed upon our shoulders. And it was.

Everything was silent except the distinct sounds of crickets chirping deeper within the garden. Frogs croaked from the small koi pond that Wanda had requested when she had first moved in. Then there was the rhythm of our footsteps in the grass. (Y/N)'s breathing was a reassurance, keeping my mind on the right track. This is all for her. I have to do this for her.

Loki was impossible to miss. And, after Thor threw a stick at him, we knew that he was really here. Loki rubbed his cheek, which was where the stick had hit him. Thor stood before the two of us, (Y/N)'s arm pressed up against mine. It was rather evident that Thor wasn't going to allow anything bad to happen to us.
