[Peter's POV]
Glancing around me, I exhaled a sigh of defeat after seeing no one. It was close to two in the morning and my brain hasn't shut off quite yet. Everyone else resided to their own rooms while I paced around a large courtyard-like area.
I kept my eyes glued to my feet, which was covered in the spandex of my suit. My brain raced at just about a million miles per hour as I considered the entirety of the situation. Worst of all, that this whole charade isn't even over yet.
Thanos is still out there. Half of Earth's population is gone. And—
Oh God...
I felt sick to my stomach as I immediately paused where I was standing. She should've been there. She should've been sleeping. Did (Y/N) also disappear...? My hands trembled as I felt lightheaded. I was definitely going to pass out if I didn't grab onto something.
I ended up sitting in the grass, breathing heavily as my thoughts ran wild. I was struggling to grasp a basic understanding in general, and now I'm way over thinking things.
"Relax, Peter Parker..." A gentle voice spoke as I quickly looked up, but no one was there. I looked around me a couple of times, breathing heavily.
"She's alright. She's still in the compound with the Avengers," The voice claimed as I knitted my eyebrows together, glancing around. Only to find nothing.
"Who's there?" I asked, placing my palms flat against the ground and getting ready to stand up. But as soon as I was about to push myself up, I heard her voice. And that caused every cell in my body to freeze up.
"Peter?!" She screamed as I jumped up to my feet and whipped my head around in the direction of her voice. And I jumped.
Doctor Strange was the only person there, but no sight of (Y/N). He had an eyebrow precariously arched and intense eyes glaring down at me.
"Are you alright, Peter?" He asked so softly, but his voice didn't match the one that had been speaking to me a little bit ago. I blinked a couple of times before hesitantly nodding.
"Yeah. Yeah. I'm just... Homesick. I miss Tony. And (Y/N). And Ned..." I mumbled as Strange carefully nodded. I was on edge about openly discussing the voices in my head.
"I know. And we'll get home. Don't worry about it too much," He tried to assure me as I carefully nodded. I kept glancing back towards where her voice had originated from.
I wanted to see her so badly. And hug onto her and make sure she knew that I was okay and that everything else was going to be okay.
"I know you want to see her, Peter Parker..." The unknown voice spoke up as I blinked a few more times than looked up at Strange. He didn't seem to notice anything.
Perfect, so I'm going insane now. Why shouldn't I be? Hell, I don't even know where I am.
"I'm going to head back. Take all the time you need, Peter," Strange started calmly before turning and heading away and back towards his room.
I breathed out a sigh and buried my face in my hands. I wanted to scream and cry all at the same time.
The world seemed to get colder the longer I stood there and thought. The more I tried to wrap my head around the situation, I felt loneliness creep in. Then I was crying. Bawling, really. I couldn't control myself and I wasn't emotionally okay.
"P-Peter...?" A timid voice spoke as I carefully peeled my skull away from my hands and looked up. Hot tears trailed down my cheeks as I found myself staring into the same portal that seemed to have appeared that other day. The day I had mistaken this for one of Strange's.
And there she was. Dressed in an old AC/DC sweatshirt that was a little big on her. She had black leggings on beneath it and beat up, black, Converse high-tops on her feet. She stood motionless and just stared at me with her wide (E/C) eyes, which reminded me of the deer-in-the-headlights look. Her hair was soaking wet and perfectly framed her face with no volume whatsoever. I couldn't tell if she had tears or water dripping down her cheeks. And, quite frankly, in that moment, I didn't care.
I sprinted forwards, and so did she, but as soon as we actually got to the portal, a light blue forcefield stopped us, pushing both of us a step back.
I watched as a figure walked up behind her as my eyes narrowed down.
"It appears that I am capable of reading your mind, Parker," The male, who owned the ominous voice that I was hearing in my head, spoke up. My eyes took in who he was, but I've never seen him before. Yet, I knew exactly who he was.
"Loki..." I hissed as he smiled and nodded.
"Wait, you know him?" (Y/N) asked as I looked back at her, attempting to step closer. But I still couldn't enter the portal.
"He's Thor's brother," I explained as she carefully nodded. She tried to grab my hand, but the forcefield shocked her. She yelped and yanked her hand away as I looked at her and shook my head.
"Don't touch the portal..." I whispered so softly to her as she slowly nodded, wrapping her arms around herself instead. She was trembling and was obviously freezing cold. And I wanted nothing more in the world than to pull her into my chest and hug onto her.
"How is all this happening?" I asked, my dark eyes drifting up to Loki, who smirked maniacally at my question.
"So glad you asked, Peter. I mean, you're smart enough to know that clearly I must want something in order for the two of you to be seeing one another," Loki claimed as I shrugged.
"Maybe. But I'm more referring to the fact that you died about a week ago," I claimed as Loki only rolled his eyes.
"Does my idiotic brother actually think I'm dead? This is, what, the third time I've died in front of him, at least. And he still believes it?" Loki asked, his tone sounding a bit offended. He exhaled a dramatic sigh as I rolled my eyes. (Y/N) was looking between the two of us as we had this discussion, confusion clear on her expression.
"Yes, he does," I claimed as Loki shook his head before looking at me with extreme concentration.
"But you couldn't possibly care about my family drama, could you, Parker?" Loki asked as I kept my eyes narrowed down on the chaos god before he smiled sinisterly.
"I want something from you and you know it," He spoke as I nodded hesitantly.
"I do..." I whispered so quietly.
"It's a simple request, really. And, if you're willing to help your girlfriend out, then this will all go a lot smoother," Loki claimed as my eyes popped wide open.
She already made a deal with him. Which means I have to say yes. Because, whatever it is, isn't going to be fun to attempt to do. And the thought of her having to do it alone made me feel worse.
"Spill," I snapped at Loki as he smirked.
"The reunion of you two, and your safety, of course. But, in return, I will need all six Infinity Stones," Loki spike as the world went silent. My stomach dropped and I felt sick as I looked down at (Y/N) with panicked eyes.
Please tell me that this isn't happening...
