Mother adopted 7 kids that were all in middle school. Mother's real name is Koshi Sugawara. He met Daichi Sawamura in high school, and they got married. Koshi changed his last name to Sawamura. Daichi and Koshi decided to adopt kids that would probably never find a family. They notice that they may need a housekeeper and babysitter. They hired Asahi Azumane and Kiyoko Shimizu. After a year of preparations, they finally adopted 7 kids.
The oldest child is Ryunosuke Tanaka and the youngest was Tobio Kageyama. Koshi and Daichi decided to change their last names to Sawamura. In order from oldest to youngest, it went: Ryunosuke, Yuu, Chikara, Shoyo, Kei, Tadashi, and Tobio. Ryunosuke, Yuu, and Chikara were 2nd years in middle school, while Shoyo, Kei, Tadashi, and Tobio were just first years in middle school.
Daichi and Koshi were very playful and wanted to spend time with everyone. Over time, the kids became out of control. Koshi started to stress out because the house was a mess all the time and no one would listen to him. He called his two best friends, Kuroo and Oikawa, to help. They suggested a stricter household and to show the kids that the parents are in charge. Koshi liked the idea a tried to use it in the family. It took about five attempts before the kids would listen and follow. Koshi found hitting the kids as punishment was the most effective. Rules and punishment were made or adjusted as time went on, but Koshi has changed.
Koshi became the head of the family and Daichi was there as support. Daichi was chief at the police station, and would not be home often. Koshi would have to take on the mother and father job. Ryunosuke and Yuu caused lots of trouble for Koshi that they are the most hurt. Koshi has hit them constantly, but they don't seem to be bothered by it.

There are tons of other families similar to Koshi and Daichi's family. Their family structures were different and safer than the Sawamura family. Koshi was friends with Kuroo and Oikawa, who had families of their own. Kuroo was a father of 6 kids and Oikawa was a mother of 7 kids. There are other families like the Bokuto family, the Aone family, or the Wakatoshi family. Most lived in the same area and the kids went to school together. The Bokuto family and Aone family lived further away from the other families, so their kids went to a different school.
Hinata and Kenma are best friends. Most of the families are friends from their kids or their parents. Koshi rarely allows friends over, so his kids have to hang out at school. When Koshi does allow friends over, he would usually make his kid do more chores to make up the lost time. Koshi has a very controlled environment when it comes to his family and people that are friends with his kids.
