it was 3:45 am and I was playing minecraft with alex. we had built up a world from nothing all the way up to a whole little town, and we were currently mining to get both of us full diamond, and we found the end portal thing (its a stronghold right? im being fucking stupid and drawing a blank.
"look y/n!" he looked excited that we found it on our own not even meaning to. "do you wanna look for the portal?"

alex's pov (I don't think ive done this yet hehe)

"do you wanna look for the portal?" I looked over to my phone scrren to see y/n staring st her screen, her face pale, and one single tear going down her face. "y/n.. hey what's wrong?"
she snapped back into reality (oH theRe goEs gRavity)
"n-nothing, just if we look for it can you stay with me?"

y/n's pov (this chapters gonna have more pov switches sry)

as we looked at the stronghold, the memories of the last time I was here flooded into my head..

(flashback)
(semi-realistic minecraft coming up.. ive never done it before so be nice please :))

I ran up to my boyfriend, following the eyes of ender all the way to wherever the stronghold was. I had one, and I threw it up into the air, it landed right in front of us, but broke, a shattering sound coming through my ears. "you broke it. why the fuck did you break it?" he punched me, my armor protecting me from any pain, but the thought of him trying to hurt me made a tear run down my face. I grabbed my shovel out of my bag, and dug down, to find the bricks. soon my shovel broke, the top falling completely off.
"m-my shovel broke. I can't dig anymore I'm sorry. he hopped down into the hole I had been digging. I heard him grumble quietly. "piece of shit you can't even dig a fucking hole right- FUCKING MOVE" he pushed the shovel into my foot, making me gasp in pain, and also jumping back, letting him dig. he found it, and I jumped down, we started to walk around. I followed behind him, scared to walk away from him and get lost. he turned around and pushed me away. "bruh what the fuck stop following me. help me find the portal."
"b-but im scared" I replied, rubbing the spot on my arm he had grabbed to push me away, it had hurt.
" you have full diamond, which I got you, a sheild, a bow, and diamond tools! what the fuck are you scared about?" he had started yelling by this point.
"that not what i-" he gave me a look. I knew I should stop talking back before he hit me again. "never mind."
I walked away, scared he was gonna yell again. I ran around to try and find it to get this feeling over with. we could kill the dragon and get this over with. then we could go back to our village.. oh never mind he blew it all up ahha.
once we found it, he put the eyes in. "stay here while I get it started. you come in when I tell you to. if you go in you'll fuck everything up like usual." he said the last part under his breath, but not to the point I couldnt hear him.
"be safe.. I love you." I weakly smiled at him.
"whatever. bye"
I felt a few warm tears roll down my face. I dug out a hole, and went into the nether with the obsidian I had collected before. I got a bunch of gold, and traded with the piglins, killing endermen occasionally, getting a bunch of pearls. as I was mining gold, I found netherite, four pieces. I went back to the portal and broke it before he came back to see what I had done. I turned the scraps into ingots, and upgraded what I could of my armor. he came back through, and saw my netherite and accused me of stealing from him. "n-no I've just made this I promise!" he punched me a few times. "come through the portal now, if you want to feel somewhat useful for a minute." I walked through the portal, and helped him kill the dragon.
(back to real life, still a flashback tho)

I closed up my laptop, and got into bed. he was in the bathroom getting clothes on. he came out of the bathroom and sat down next to me. I opened my arms for cuddles but he turned away grumbling something about me being too needy. I turned away aswell and a few more tears slowly dripped down into my eyes.

(back to minecraft with alex.)
I had told him what happened that night as we walked around the stronghold, him making sure to stay right by my side the whole time. he listened to every word. I was flat out crying by this point. alex sniffled.
"I promise ill always be here for you." he started talking to me, as I finished my story and we came up to the portal room. I wrote down the cords and we went back to our mining.
we talked until 5 am, when we both passed out.

when we woke up, it was around the same time. we decided to stream our world  together. I was starting to really fall for him.
I got a message from someone.

I asked alex if he was going. "of course! you could drive over here, stay for a day then we can go there together" he smiled. I smiled aswell, knowing that id get to see him, and my favorite people.
