Emily quickly shoved her covers off her, climbing to her feet. She rubbed her tired eyes.

She ignored her parents yells as she made her way to the bathroom.

She shut the door behind, quickly grabbing a towel from the closet. She turned the shower faucet on, running her hand under the water until it was steamy hot.

Emily loved taking hot showers, where it was almost burning her. But to her, it was relaxing.

She removed her clothes and then pulled the knob up to let the water stream down. She stepped underneath the water, closing the curtains.

She sighed in relief. She lathered shampoo on her hair, singing softly.

"Sometimes I think I'm falling down."

She let the shampoo get washed away.

"I wanna cry, I'm calling out."

She lathered conditioner in her hair, closing her eyes.

"For one more try to feel alive."

She kept her eyes closed as she went under the water so it could wash the conditioner away.

"And when I feel lost and alone."

She began to scrub her body with some honey body wash.

"I know that I can make it home."

She shaved her legs and armpits.

"Fight through the dark and find the spark."

After the water took all the soap away, Emily shut the water off and pulled the curtains open. She grabbed her towel, rubbing it over her hair to slightly dry it before wrapping the towel around herself.

She stepped out of the tub, shivering from the cold.

She patted down the hall to her room. Her brows furrowed when she noticed her bedroom door was open when she knows she shut it.

"Reggie, what did I say about going in my room?!" Emily hollered.

She rolled her eyes, walking into her room. She gasped. "Luke, what are you doing here?"

His eyes widened as Emily was only in a towel. "Sorry, your parents let me in."

Emily blushed crimson. "Um, give me a minute to get dressed."

"Yep." Luke nodded, quickly walking pass her.

Emily shut her door, shaking her head with a chuckle at Luke's reaction. She slid her undergarments on, grabbing a random shirt and pants.

She opened her bedroom door. "Hey."

"Hey." Luke repeated.

"Come in." Emily said, moving to the side. "What's up?"

"What was that song you were singing?" Luke asked. He fell back on Emily's bed.

Emily froze. "What song?"

"The song you were singing in the shower." Luke raised his brows.

Emily shyly looked away. "Just a song I'm writing. Not close to being done."

"Maybe I can help?" Luke suggested.

"I don't know. It's not very good." Emily said."

"Liar." Luke laughed. "Come on, Emmy."

She sighed, sitting beside the boy. She always loved music and making it. But she was scared of not being good enough.

She knew she could show Luke anything. She trusted him.
