Before you say Bumblebee is an orphan hear me out:
I think that the reason Bumblebee was an orphan was because when Wasp did have a child she was thinking about what might happen when Bumblebee grows up and challenges her. So she decided to put Bumblebee as an "orphan" and just put it with the rest of the eggs in order to avoid conflict
Also, orphans must be very rare in Wasp hive considering how most hivewings there are wealthy and Bumblebee's was the only one there.
I don't have any real evidence for this but I just think it would be a cool twist. :)
