Clearsight had so many husbands and so many children. That doesn't mean they all looked and we're the same.
I think that one or more of the children Clearsight had didn't inherit anything from her besides her fire.
Fire + silk = Flame Silk
I think that her children that were like that married other silkwings and THEY had children like that and so on.
That would explain why Flame Silk is only inherited from another flame silk and isn't a natural ability.
This also means that:
Blue, and Luna are biologically related to Clearsight :)))))))
