When I read the Railway Series: Salvation Collection written by TheMidlandEngine (link in the comments), I quickly found myself enjoying these stories quite seriously. But one of the stories that caught my attention was "Dirt and Grime". In a nutshell, it tells the story of how Molly the Strong Engine and Emily the Emerald Engine are in a constant fight, and have been in that relationship for some time.
Seeing that he had wrote it some time ago and never continued on it, I figured I would have a crack at it.
So I did.
I sent the final product to TheMidlandEngine, who was pleasantly surprised that I had, as he put it, "wrote a fanfiction of a fanfiction". He told me he already had plans for the pair in his series, but encouraged me to publish this anyway.
Which brings us here.
I cannot stress enough that you should read "The Railway Series: Salvation Collection". (Though you should probably start with "The Railway Series: Archive Collection", also made by TheMidlandEngine). However, this story can be read on its own, if you wish.
Seriously, the Salvation Collection is well worth reading. I cannot stress that enough.
I would like to thank TheMidlandEngine for not only inspiring this story, but also giving me the green light to post it. I admit some things are intentionally left open-ended until the tail-end of the story, but I suppose that's half the fun of this sort of thing for me.
This might be a stand-alone story. Or maybe I'll write more in the future. Who knows?
