Chapter Nine: Adventures

Beatrice shifted her body onto her white duvet, sighing aloud as the booming music from the living room bounced on the walls inside her room. This is exactly what she didn't want; she didn't want to have a party in the first place because she knew she would somehow, some way, end up alone.

It was, in fact, her fault that she was alone, but she hasn't quite gotten her head around the fact that Hayes Grier, the one boy she felt angry yet upset over, was dancing in her living room having the time of his life. Maybe, if he was stupid enough, he'd be making out with a random stranger (or maybe a fan that eased her way inside the house because she knew they would end up here) and he'd forget about the situation, and perhaps her.

She spoke too soon as her bedroom door opened quickly, and Hayes slid in the room with a pacing heart and an unsteady breathing pattern. He shut the door behind him with a slam as he leaned against the bedroom door. His eyebrows furrowed and he tried his hardest to maintain his breathing, "why are you in here alone?"

Beatrice rolled her eyes, "because it's my room and there's a thing called privacy; ever heard of it?"

A small smile emitted from his plump lips as his feet stalked to the bed, sitting down beside Beatrice. "I actually don't know anymore. Privacy isn't really an option when you're a celebrity."

"Please don't bring that up so easily, Hayes. I'm still wrapping my head around things," she sighed. Her blue eyes were becoming heavy and her lilac hair was turning into it's natural, dark roots.

"Sorry," Hayes said, listening as the conversation faded quickly and the only sound was the music trailing from the living room. After the finishing of the song 'Hey Mama', Hayes had figured it was time to spark up a new conversation, perhaps an apology. "I didn't mean to keep this secret from you; I should've known you were going to find out immediately."

Bea sighed, running her fingers through her tussled hair, "It's not your fault. You literally gave me all the signs, and the magazines? I should've seen those sooner. It's my fault for being so cooped up in the house and not actually fitting into the real world."

Hayes smiled innocently, taking in the warmness of the clean situation. She knew he was famous, and for some reason, Hayes knew she wasn't going to take that for granted. He had a feeling that she wasn't like those other girls, maybe she'd possibly forget about the whole fame thing and remember him as a normal person; a friend, but then again, it's quite impossible to forget you have a famous friend when there will be fans all around.

"You okay?" Beatrice waved her hand in front of his spaced face, a giggle leaving her mouth soon after.

"I wanna take you on an adventure," Hayes blurted. The thought was quite random, actually, he didn't know where the thought came from. One second mind was on the terms of having a normal friend without the perks of being used, and the next, he wanted to travel the world with her.

"Depends what kind of adventure, Grier. I'm not leaving America, if that's what you're insisting."

Hayes eyebrows furrowed, but the smile he held was still there. "One, I wasn't insisting that at all. Two, even if I was, why wouldn't you leave?"

Beatrice nodded her head from side-to-side, contemplating on her answers. She could give her geeky truth, or figure out a substantial answer that he might accept. For a second, the idea of lying made her feel mischievous because he had done the same thing. After all, revenge is a dish best served cold.

"I know I'm 21, but I still want to go to college. I want to become an astronomer, or maybe even an author. I just want a good future, you know?"

Hayes smiled, "yeah. I know."

This was a short chapter, but I believe the next chapter will be so much longer. Where do you think Hayes is gonna take her? Are you happy the two are back on good terms?
