Start of a new life

After I woke up I took a shower and dressed in this. 

I grabbed my stuffy named fluffy and walked downstairs Phil was putting our bags in the trunk of the car. Bella linked her arm with mine and mom said "I am gonna miss you girls so much." Bella said, "We will miss you too mom." Phil said, "Hey AJ is your dad gonna be ok with fluffy?" I raised an eyebrow while tilting my head to the right and said "Why wouldn't he be? I mean it's not like fluffy needs to eat or can make a mess." Phil chuckled and said, "I realize this AJ but most teenagers don't carry a stuffed animal around." I said, "And most teenagers don't have severe depression and crippling anxiety." 

"Speaking of which," Bella asked me "Do you have your meds?" I said "Yeah front pocket of my backpack." she nodded and mom pulled us into a hug, I wasn't worried about leaving our erratic, childlike, harebrained mother. She had Phil now so there would be gas in her car, food in the fridge, the bills would be paid, and someone would be there for her to call when she got lost. Mom said, "You girls don't have to do this." Bella lied "We want to go spend time with Charlie. It will be good for us, even better for Ara." mom said, "You two can come back anytime, I will fly back from wherever, whenever either of you needs me." I said, "Mom don't worry about us and have fun, we will be safe in a cop's house." Phil said, "I love you all but we don't want to be late."

Once we landed in forks I hugged fluffy close to my chest as I held Bella's hand with my free one and we went looking for Charlie. Once we found him he was standing with his police cruiser, he gave us each an awkward hug and said: "It's good to see you Bells, Jae." I said "It's good to see you too dad." we got in the car Bella in the front and started the long hour journey to Forks. After a while of silence, he said "Your hair's longer." she said, "I cut it since the last time I saw you." Charlie said, "How's Renee?" Bella said "She's good." he sighed "So... Jae your mom says the wolf is supposed to help you?" I hugged her to my chest and said "Yeah, I uh, my therapist gave her to me when I was seven to help me handle everything. Did mom tell you what happened?" he said, "Yes she did, she explained it when I asked why I only got Bella during the summers." I nodded and leaned my head against the window.

The car got silent again and we passed the city sign that said The City Of Forks Welcomes You Population 3246. I sighed now it's 3248 there were more than 9000 kids in my sophomore class alone, around 7000 in Bella's junior class. I don't like new people it messes with my anxiety, when we got to the house I grabbed my bags and followed Charlie inside. He said "Ok so I made the attic to a bedroom and your mom said it was best to put you up there Jae. So Bella your room is here." He opened a door and we saw a cute room it had a full bed with purple bedding, a desk, a second-hand computer, and yellow lace curtains on the windows. There was a rocking chair in the corner from our baby days.

She went into the room to unpack and he took me up another set of stairs and said "This is your room." I nodded and walked inside, set my bags down, and laid fluffy on my bed before sitting down as well. I was taking some deep breaths when I heard a honk outside, I went to the window and looked out into the yard. I saw a faded orange chevy truck, looks to be made in the '50s or '60s at the latest. Charlie was talking to an older man in a wheelchair, he has long black hair and is wearing a cowboy hat, next to him is a younger boy same long black hair though he is tied back with a rubber band, he looks to be about my age maybe a year younger. 

I wasn't gonna go down but Bella hollered up "Ara come outside!" I sighed and changed into this.

Then I grabbed Fluffy and went downstairs Bella grabbed my hand and laced our fingers together before dragging me outside. As we got to the porch I whispered "Bella can't I go back inside?" she whispered back "No Ara, but trust me it will be ok, just hug fluffy and remember neither Charlie nor I will let them hurt you." I nodded and Charlie walked over saying "Are you ok Jae?" Bella answered for me "She will be fine, she can't hide from strangers forever." Charlie nodded and we all walked over to the strangers, Charlie said "Bella, you remember Billy Black. This is AraBella my youngest daughter, Jae this is my best friend Billy and his son Jacob." Billy said, "Glad you're both finally here, Charlie hasn't shut up about it since you told him you were coming." 

Charlie said, "Keep exaggerating and I'll roll you down the hill." Billy said, "Right after I ram you in the ankles." Billy took several rolls toward Charlie and they went off into the street to play, Jacob walked toward us and said "I'm Jacob, we made mud pies together when we were little kids." Bella said "Yeah... I think I remember..." I slipped my hand from Bella's replacing it with Fluffy so she was holding her and Bella glanced at me as she said "Are they all ways like that?" he looked at our father's and said, "It's getting worse with old age." I popped the hood of the truck and climbed up to look at the engine. Charlie walked up and patted the orange beast, and said "So what do you think of your homecoming gift?" Bella said "No way. This truck is for us?" 

Charlie said, "Just bought it off Billy here, but I only had enough for one so you'll have to share." Jacob said, "I rebuilt the engine..." Bella cut him off saying "It's perfect, right Ara?" I popped my head up out of the engine and said "I wouldn't say perfect but it was rebuilt pretty well. There are a few things I would have added of course." Bella sighed and said, "I didn't mean the condition of the truck I meant that we get one." I said, "Oh... yeah that's amazing." I slammed the hood shut and jumped down.

Bella and Jacob got in the truck and so I climbed up to lean in Bella's window, She handed me fluffy and took the keys from Jacob, he said "You gotta double pump the clutch when you shift but.." she looked at me so I pointed out the clutch to her, she said, "Maybe we could give you. ride to school." He said "I go to school on the reservation." she sighed and said "Too bad. Would've been nice to know at least one person." I said, "What am I chopped liver?" She rolled her eyes and said, "You don't count because you sit by yourself at lunch." Billy and Jacob went home and we had dinner and went to bed.
