Hilichurl and me

Part 2: Something unexpected

"Can't believe that Zhongli made me almost broke again" the traveler sighs at their friend's irresponsibility, "hey isnt that the hilichurl camp from yesterday?" Paimon pointed out, "oh yeah! It is" the traveler smiles at the memory of the
previous day, "thanks to that hilichurl paimon had a big feast" she said with drool dripping down her chin, "oo we should visit Mr. Hilichurl again to thank him once more!" Paimon said as she flies around excitedly, "okay fine, we should sneak though, don't wanna be alerting the others" traveler said while running in the camp's direction.

Traveler peers in and sees the same hilichurl well...man?? From yesterday, it looks like a mitachurl is talking to him, in it's hands was a mask that it was painting, "Mr.hilichurl's getting a new mask! Paimon never thought about how they get their masks, it's kinda cute" Paimon giggles, "um how are we supposed to get his attention" Traveler sighs, suddenly a "GAH!" Was heard, a hilichurl had noticed them, "oh no..." The traveler stood up from the crouching position. The whole camp was alerted, Mr. Hilichurl stares at the traveler in shock, "you" he said poiting at traveler smiling. The traveler had to run, they didn't want to fight these hilichurls, Mr. Hilichurl jumps around and frantically says something in the hilichurl language, resulting in all the hilichurls, samachurl, slimes, and the mitachurl to lower their weapons.

The hilichurl sighs in relief, "hmm.." the mitachurl grunts and opens it's mask to reveal yet another person-like creature, "so you were the one from yesterday, the one who took his mask" The mitachurl spoke in a deep voice at the traveler, "WOAH- he speaks fluent human" Paimon said in shock. "U-um yes I'm sorry about that" traveler answered nervously, 'this is kinda scary' the traveler thought, "hm I suppose I could let it pass since you asked him nicely and didn't kill us like those knights has done for centuries" the mitachurl scoffs. "Can all monsters understand human language?" The traveler asks, "we are able to but we rarely use it, no one has ever wanted to talk it out, that Ella girl...she was a first" The mitachurl continued, the mitachurl snaps his fingers, a samachurl and a slime came by his side. "Now you see, we can only talk when we're in our humanoid form, in order for us to change form we need to take off our masks and for smiles they can change forms but it would look like a blob...human or whatever" The mitachurl tries to explain, the slime huffs and starts to change form, "that's kinda mean" the slime says with it's hand on both hips, the samachurl opens it's mask and it grows taller in size.  "It's a pleasure to meet the legendary traveler that the locals have been talking about" the samachurl bows a bit.

"This is weird and interesting, I'll tell Ella bout this I'm sure she'll be super happy to know that it's possible to become friends with hilichurls" Traveler smiles, "But for centuries not even one hilichurl managed to convince the knights?" Traveler asks, "humans are wretched and greedy, they never heard us out, when they see a hilichurl they attack with no hesitation" the slime said with a mix of emotion in it's voice. "We've tried to talk to them but it resulted in us witnessing the many deaths of our friends and families" the samachurl sighs. "But of course, not all monsters are nice like us, some has so much hatred in them that they evolve into a stronger and evil monster...lawachurls, they were once like me a mitachurl, but the rage within was enhanced by something  with great power...lawachurls being big and strong they can pull in other hilichurls into their camps and somehow they completely lose their morals and rage is all they feel" the mitachurls said.

The sky had become dark, "you best head back traveler, the day has almost past" the samachurl said, "traveler...go...home, traveler safe" Mr. Hilichurl said, "also, don't tell anyone about this encounter we are afraid they'll come here to invetigate, afterall this is our home who would want strangers invading it" The mitachurl said . Traveler nods and starts to go back, "hey paimon...something isn't right here, should we talk to the knights about this? But the mitachurl said not to" Traveler thinks, "Paimon thinks we shouldn't, they have their reasons" Paimon says as her stomach rumbles, "okay...let's go grab dinner" traveler says as they run back to mondstadt.
