Stumbling as I get tossed out of another bar "Get the fuck out you bum!" the bartender shouted . I lay facedown on the pavement for a moment to collect myself , Then I push myself up as stable as I could . I stood up   wobbling over to a nearby ally using the building as a makeshift crutch. .*slurp* *crunch* . I raise my eyes to see a person over another person , embracing them . It takes a moment to register , But I notice blood dripping from one of the people . *gasp* I say as a drunken mistake . The person leaning over the other person raises their head and stares at me with terrifying eyes , Piecing red  and with a growl to match. "Oh shit." I say to myself feeling its eyes on me . I turn to run as best I can , The creature gives chase and catches up almost instantly. It grabs my arm and easily snaps my bone " You shouldn't run. you know what runs ......Food runs  ." it said in a deep horrifying voice . "W...Wait , please don't kill me Ples-" It took my arm and tossed me through a nearby boarded up window. "Gah!!" I shout , I look at my side and see a chunk of glass in my side . I begin to crawl the best I can , as I do I notice the surroundings . I see the pews  and looking a bit farther away I see the alter . I push myself to get to it . " Please , God please I don't want to die , I'm sorry for all I have done . I'm sorry for turning against you in grief .....I want to live , don't let this monster ki-" I felt something grab my foot with vicelike strength and pick me upside down . "What's wrong little human , do you think God will save you from me ." A hollow laugh filled the empty void of the derelict church  .He carried me to the alter and dropped me , he grabbed my face and forced my head to look at the great wooden cross that hung on the wall . "Beg , beg for him to save you !" he screamed . I began to cry "Please , please help me , I'm sorry ! Please forgive me of all my sins God !!" I shouted best I could with him chocking me with his hand "Hahaha I am going to kill you , right here on this alter . I want you to spend your last seconds cursing him , cursing your GOD . " he whispers in my ear . His grip released "Crawl , I like to play with my food ." , I listened and tried to crawl away , I then saw the broken pole of a flag ."If I am gonna die , I'm going to make sure he remembers me !" I think to myself . I felt him over me ,sharp kicks to my side caused me to groan. He grabbed my shoulder and flipped me over . "You bore me ." he said staring into my eyes . "Fuck you !" I shout and I impale a long stick into his chest  . The look of shock and fear appeared on his face . I twist the stick in deeper as I grab the back of his neck pulling him to me . He began to scream and burst into flames  and then to ash .I looked up to the cross " Thank you ." was all I could say before fading to black 

Time skip 

" Sir Integra , do you think it wise to bring an uninitiated individual here?" an older males voice said , "Walter , He killed a vampire with a stake while completely intoxicated . Granted he may be in rough shape now , but look at his background . A Ex-preacher  who has no connection to his family , at the very least we could - " A female voice said before being cut off . I slowly open my eyes , A blinding light forces my eyes closed again . "Walter the lights please ."  the female voice says . "Yes ma'am " the male said in reply . *click* " I try to open my eyes again , this time blurry images  overtook me . "W..where am I ?" I ask groggily , "Safe ." was all the female said . I glance over and see an  older gentleman standing next to a sitting woman ." What happened ?" I ask . The woman sighed "You were attacked , do you remember anything about it ?" she asked . I think back , all the memories flooding back to me . "The monster ,   where ..... is he here ?" I say scared . She shook her head " No ....you saw to that ." she said with a slight grin , " What was that thing , he was eating ..a person  and then saw me and chased me , he tossed me around like I was nothing . Then I stabbed him ." I look at them "Are you police ,am I going to be arrested ?"  She shook her head but said nothing simply taking in the information . I sigh " No offence but  can you tell me anything ?" I said annoyed . She chuckled " No need for attitude , I will tell you everything you need to know . First let me ask you a few questions ." she said , more of a demand then a question . I nod "Are you F/n L/n , Ex-preacher ?" she asked , I sigh again "Yes ma'am. " I say , she nodded "That thing was a vampire , a supernatural creature who feeds on blood . " She explained , "Ok..." I said hesitantly , she gives me a  glance "Do you not believe me ?" , "No , I do ... It's just ...I survived a vampire "  I said letting it sink in . She chuckled "That is why I had my men bring you here , We are an organization that combats these monsters . It is not easy to kill one without training or attributes , for example a preacher could combat these with blessed weapons ,holy water  and a holy affinity . I want you to join our organization , train and rid the world of these rouge monsters ." she explains . I look away not being sure . She walks over to me and grabs my chin making me look at her " You have no home , no family F/n , you are in a position to  make the world a better place . Trust me when I say it needs people like you ." . I blush slightly " Where would I sleep , and does this mean ....no more drinking ?" I ask , she nods "We have a room here and it is yours if you agree ,and yes you may drink on occasion  , but  not excessively. " . I sigh and nod "When do I start ?"   

Time skip 

I followed Walter and Sir Integra to my new room . I stay silent thinking about that night " A vampire , that's what that was . I wonder what else is out there werewolves , leprechauns, cyborgs ." I think and chuckle slightly , Integra gave me a curious glance as we reached my room " This is your room , it should have everything you need . Rest and I will send Walter to bring you food and talk about a training regiment that starts first thing . Rest well F/n ." she said as she began to walk away . "Miss Integra ...Thank you for everything ." I said as I opened the door and walked inside . 

Three weeks later 

I line up the sights carefully and fire gaining a head shot  "Well done F/n , I must say you are a natural at this . Close quarter combat as well, and learning how to use your Holy attributes as weapons . You have shocked me , I must apologize to you . "Walter said happily . I smiled " Thank you , and apologize for what ?" I ask , "I was sure when you were brought in that you would be nothing but trouble , but you proved me wrong ."   . "Walter honestly if you guys didn't give me a second chance I would be dead , or in the gutter again . So please don't apologize ." I said with a grin . Suddenly a helicopter flew by and began to land in the front of the Manor . I look a Walter and see something behind his eyes , a brief flicker  before it vanished . " Well it seems you will be meeting the rest of your group ahead of schedule.  Remember what we told you about them ?" he asked , I nodded "Seras Victoria ex law enforcement and vampire  along with Alucard who turned her . Both dangerous but both Trump cards of the Hellsing organization ." I explain , Walter looks at me proudly "Good job F/n , lets go greet them home ." 

Small time skip 

As we enter the manor I was led to Sir Integra's office , before we get to the door I began to feel dizzy and held my hand out onto the wall . Walter looked at me worried "Are you ok F/n? " , I nodded "Yea .. I just feel ..bloodlust , pure bloodlust ." I say shaking it off ,Walter smiled "That is just your natural 'danger' sense , you will get used to it eventually  ." . He opened the door revealing a tall man in in a red hat and trench coat , and a young woman in a semi tactical uniform .  They all turn to look at us . "This is your new team member , F/n " . Seras rushed over to me and stuck out her hand " Seras Victoria , nice to meet you F/n ." she said with a smile , "Great to meet you too." I say with a smile . Alucard walked over to me and glared into my eyes " Walter  Just because I got a protégé , doesn't mean you needed to run out and get one . " he said in a mocking tone . Walter simply nodded " Of course I did , they are all the rage  when combating monsters ." he said smugly , I crack a smile .  I sigh " It's good to meet you Alucard , I hope we can get along ."  I say politely . he smiled twistedly " We will see ." 

(A/n I promise the next chapter will be more action packed , I just needed to set the story up a bit lol .)
