All that which I tried to remember never seemed to come, like the memories of happenings that never happened .

All that which I tried to forget seems to be engraved in my mind like the words engraved on stone meant to be captured forever.

There was this eerieness that filled the morning air when I stepped out of the house. The clouds seemed to have foreshadowed the grayness of the day to come.

When I climbed in the car I thanked Dad for the newspaper and he didn't know what I was talking about.

And he denied opening my window. The pieces didn't fit together.

Riding to school my Dad didn't make any eye contact nor did he talk to me after the questions.

He had theses dark circles underneath his eyes, overworked, tired and stressed.

Something must've happened at work but I know better than asking my Dad what's wrong when he's this stressed.

The monotonous lullaby of the car made the voiceless silence in the car a bit more bearable.

I was early this morning, a statement I never really thought I'd come up with .

I entered the school. Everyones eyes were drawn down to the Localized newspaper in their hands. Shock, horror and sadness was clear in their expression while they read.

Some stood there silently whilst letting tears roll down their cheeks . Others started bawling. For the first time nobody came to me and asked if I was okay because they themselves weren't okay.

It was a terrible sight. I hate the person who killed Martin. Not because the killer killed someone I loved but because the killer killed someone everybody loved.

No mere mortal alive should be able to compose this much saddens.

I went to my locker that was between Cindy and Nicks lockers . Locker 14 I spun the four digits on my lock - 2305-. It wasn't just a number it was the date when Martin asked me to be his girlfriend.

23 May 2013
He asked me to come watch the swimming meet final , I really didn't want to go nor had any interest in watching wanna be mermaids and mermen swimming just to get medals.

I didn't actually say those words precisely, calling the schools swimming team mermaids and mermen infront of one of the best swimmers in the school- Martin- would not have gone on smoothly .

I reluctantly agreed, it was the finals after all. When we arrived there I was greeted by a oasis of we'll built, good looking guys in speedos and too tight swimming shorts . I actually could come and watch this more often, the swimming I mean.

I sat with Cindy who was very intrigued by all the happenings.

In the end we won, it was huge for the school, since it was the first time in ten years that High School South Cambridge won the tournament.

Everyone yelled and celebrated in the stands. Me and Cindy shared this look and started doing the same. When in Rome....

All of a sudden amidst my dancing and yelling I felt a hand grab me by my wrist. "Martin? "
I saw him mouthe something but didn't hear a word between the yelling nor could I make out what he was saying . He looked at me and it seemed like he was ready to shout something.

"Will " he shouted and just then like rehearsed in the beginning of a sentence everyone went quiet, "you be my girlfriend? " he yelled not stopping and realizing that he was shouting and every one was silent.
