Dentist Hell

So I went to the dentist three days back, and they put that metal retainer thing in my mouth that pushes my tongue back by force and pain. If I talk, it hurts, if I eat, it hurts, and if I swallow my saliva or spit it out, it hurts, so basically, if I do ANYTHING, my mouth, especially my tongue, will hurt. So for however long I'm having it in my mouth, my tongue especially will get bruises, skin peeled off and blisters, so my mom' s making me take Advil everyday until it comes off. Don't y'all hate it when the dentist suddenly adds another thing to your appointment and you either have to deal with it or have your parents or guardian suddenly come in to say 'yeah sure do it' cause they think you don't have the strong mental capability to think for yourself and they have to step in and MAKE you take that decision anyways? Yeah that's my situation with the dentist-
