Fun While It Lasted

The burnt orange sun slipped through Duck's living room curtains, light annoyingly falling directly on his face, nearly blinding him. It was roughly six hours after the incident with Indigo, while the sun was rising he hadn't managed a minute of sleep. The argument was enough to wake Aries up, though he was still half-asleep, confused about what was even happening. By the time Indigo left he was fully conscious, he asked what happened once Duck plopped down on the couch beside him, and they had not moved since.

Duck's body writhed with guilt, he didn't mean what he said, nor did he ever intend to make her cry, replaying it over in his head he felt sick to his stomach. Staring blankly at the white walls for so long they began to seemingly form patterns.

"She'll forgive you, just stop stressing it. Get on the game with me". Aries assured, controller in hand as he loaded up Duck's console. However, Duck wasn't so sure, he never acted that way towards her, or any girl really. His guilt came in waves, usually washed away by anger, while he didn't mean to come off so harsh, he hated her for choosing him. He never acted on his crush because it was just a crush, she lived in another state, they had two different lives, and she didn't show interest in him regardless, but that didn't make her being with Corpse okay. Corpse was a socially rejected ass, no matter how hard Duck tried including him, or being his friend he just didn't care. What did Indigo even see in him? He wondered, He has the appeal of a fucking serial killer. Maybe he was more hurt that she didn't tell him, he couldn't decide what frustrated him the most.

"No, I doubt she will".

"Whatever man, either way, you'll be fine".

"Mhm, well I'm going to Luna's, she's likely hiding out there". He announced, leaping from the couch, stuffing his phone, and keys into his jacket pocket.

"Didn't you ask Luna if she was there already?"

"Yeah, but just because she said no doesn't mean anything. She'd lie for her without question".

"Good luck". Aries sighed, loading into the lobby of a game, as Duck walked out the front door. He was grateful for the 'good luck' because there's no way in hell he wouldn't need it.

Indigo was woken up by the sound of a metallic crash accompanied by incessant honking down below. Looking around, the memories of last night returned to her. "Fuck". She mumbled, lifting her head from Corpse's lap, her neck felt practically fractured, sore from her god awful choice of sleeping position. Though his wasn't much better; sitting with his back against a cold industrial air vent. She gazed over at him, confused on how he even brought himself to fall asleep upright.

She considered waking him up, mildly annoyed by his low snores, but remembered him talking about how he rarely gets sleep anymore, and decided on leaving him alone. Instead she pulled her phone from her pocket, scrolling through missed text messages and whatnot.

Asdfghjkl_Aries: Hey Indi hope ur doing alright. Heard what happened last night sorry bro... tht wasn't coo but Duck just left tryna find you at Luna's idk if u there or not but I think you deserved the heads up. If you or Corpse wanna come back rn I won't say nun

Indibunny666: Thx Aries I appreciate it lots ! I'll come back in a little, I forgot my bag anyways :/

Indigo smiled to herself it was nice to know she wasn't crazy, or too bad of a person. Aries and Duck grew up together, so there's no way he'd side with her unless he truly believed she was in the right.
