"C'mon Bunny, one last time?"
Corpse's words swirled through Indigo's head as she sat awkwardly down on the corner of his undone bed. Why was she here? She couldn't think of one reason why being at Corpse's cursed apartment could be a possibly okay idea, but for some reason none of that mattered, she wanted to be here, with him.
He held her hand tightly with his un-broken hand, black clipped fingernails laced along each others grasp. Somehow he managed to talk her into sneaking out of the hospital, it didn't take much convincing, which surprised him. Honestly, she surprised herself, but to her it was really the last time she'd ever be around him so who cares, might as well make it count. She threw all the harsh words he said, and fucked up things he did to the back of her mind, just for tonight she could forget. She deserved to feel that pure happiness that only ignorance could bring.
They jogged down the parking garage, wide smiles across their faces, nearly drunken with joy. They had no real reason to be running, they slipped out the emergency room with ease, nobody cared about their whereabouts, but Corpse playfully tugged her along, and she didn't question it. The wind blew through her curls wildly, normally she'd be annoyed with hair blowing around her face, but she missed the outdoors so much that she began to find it rather pleasant.
Laughter exploded from her chest, not that there was anything actually funny being said, but the bliss she felt was beyond a grin. Sure, Corpse was cool, his presence undoubtedly did contribute to her excitement, but it was mainly just an intense sense of freedom she felt in her core.
Indigo hoisted herself into the passenger side of his car, taking a deep winded inhale, attempting to catch her breath. Heavy breaths was all that could be heard within the vehicle, yet silence was nowhere near awkward. He let out a breathy chuckle, directing his gaze over to his giggly counterpart. She soon followed suit, looking at one another. He reached out and grabbed her hand, without another word he brought her hand to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss against her skin.
He already allowed his feelings to overtake himself once and ever since its all he could think about, he wanted so badly to repeat over and over how much he loved and missed her until she believed it. It was like his emotional dam was flooding, and it was such a confusingly exciting feeling that he couldn't shake.
"Indi, you alright?" Corpse questioned, snapping her out of her memories. "Since when do you call me that? Thought I was 'bunny'?" She raised an eyebrow, watching him close his bedroom door behind it, locking it for once. Not that it was necessary, considering their flat was vacant, he assumed Duck was at Luna's, but didn't really care enough to ask.
"Of course, I'll always think of you as bunny, but I thought you didn't like that".
"Since when do you care about what I want?" She asked, not intending an attitude, but it somehow always made it's way out.
"Trying to be nicer, but since you're being mean I take it back". He joked, plopping down beside her on the bed, gently falling onto his stomach, helping himself down with his 'good' hand. "You're never nice". She smirked, falling back on the mattress next to him. "Yeah, yeah, how's your wrists?" He asked, letting his playful tone fall into a more serious one.
"They're okay for now, I'm sure I'll feel a bit different in a couple hours when these meds wear off, how's yours?"
"Way better than it was... you can have some of mine if you want".
