Chapter 12 - I Could Get Used to This

Hello All! Sorry for the late update (> 4 months)!!! I've been battling some medical problems lately but now I'm all better and read to start with this story. I've edited each chapter actually and I'm surprised no one commented on my mistakes! Thank you though. Here is the next chapter. Hope you all like it. XOXO

Chapter 12

Blue eyes. That was what was staring back at me. But they aren't the normal blue eyes my sister has. They're the blue eyes that Giovanni has and the same that Jonathan does. The same blue eyes that has destroyed me when I was younger. Fear crept up my body at the mere thought of him. But as fast as they came, they were dissipated, by my sister tearing up. I could feel her nervousness from all the way across the field. She was scared. She was scared of me, of what I would think of her. She was scared that I wouldn't accept her. 

I couldn't help but reprimand myself for even thinking that Maddie was anything like Jonathan. Everything about her was still the same. She still had the same innocence about her that even vampirism couldn't take away. She was probably the kindest looking vampire the world has ever seen. By now Maddie has full blown bawled her eyes, thinking that I didn't accept her since I was still at my spot. 

Giovanni was tending to her and trying to keep her calm but she was still crying. Without anymore hesitation I ran up to her and brought her into my arms. "Oh thank god, you're safe Maddie. I don't know what I would do if something had happened to you," I showered her with kisses on her head and hugged her even tighter. 

"I was scared you wouldn't accept me Matther when you stopped in the middle of your tracks like that. I'm so glad you're up. I visited you every single day hoping that you would wake up."

After a few more assurance for her that I was ok, I pushed her an arm's length and looked her straight in the eye, "you are my sister Maddie. Nothing about that will change. I also love you with all my heart, nothing about THAT will change either," I said to her with a smile and he smiled at what I said too. I could hear Dominik behind me growling lowly and I think it was because I said I loved her, but I turned around and spoke without even thinking," oh stop with the growling Dominik. I love you too!" My eyes widen and I covered my mouth after realizing what I said.

Before I knew it, I was in his arms being showered with kisses. I couldn't help but giggle from all this. "Stop...I...can't...stop...laughing..." I managed to say between fits of giggles.

"Oh to hear those words come out of your mouth and hear you laugh without care...pinch me I must be dreaming. OW!" He let me go and turned in his heels to see what cause him pain.

"Well you said to pinch you and I guess I don't know my own strength. Besides I want to hug my brother too!" Maddie pouted and crossed her arms across her chest as she says this, with Giovanni right behind her, breathing in her scent. 

"Ok, ok stop it you too, there's plenty of me to go around..."

"NO!" Dominik shouted. "You will not be passed around for anybody but me!" He cradled me into his arms and carried me bridal style into the house we were just in. I couldn't help but laugh at his childish antics. I guess if you haven't seen your mate in a month, you'd tend to get possessive. I know I would if the roles were reversed. 

He found the couch and proceeded to sit down, me right on his lap. I squirmed a bit trying to get comfortable and that was a big mistake since Dominik help me in place and whispered something menacing in my ear, "you keep doing that meine liebe and you won't see sunlight again for a week. Don't tease me please!"

I stuck my tongue at him and he rolled his eyes. A few seconds letter Maddie and Giovanni came into the room and sat on the couch across from us. Maddie situated exactly as I was, right in Giovanni's lap.

"Can someone please tell me what is going on?" I said to break the silence.

"I guess we should start from the attack," it was Dominik that spoke up behind me. I cuddled into his chest and he retold the story. Apparently, after draining me Jonathan was going to drain Maddie to get rid of the mates of the top vampire and werewolf. He figured that by killing of the mates of his top adversaries it would make them weak. What he didn't take into account however was just how far a mated werewolf and vampire can go in order to protect his mate. They both killed about a dozen wolf in an instant giving Travis and Tyler enough time to get to me and scare off Jonathan. Unfortunately, I had lost a lot of blood and was ready to die, but Giovanni came up with the idea of blood transfusion between Maddie and I to replenish my lost blood. But he was afraid that would leave Maddie vulnerable to death in case something went wrong and Maddie would have lost a lot of blood too. So Giovanni turned Maddie into a vampire. This was the only solution as Maddie would be able to heal her itself instantly. 

"If it is easy to turn a human into a vampire than why didn't I become one when Jonathan bit into me?" I asked Giovanni.

"Good question Matther. You see vampire venom have no effect on humans, however vampire venom from familiars such as myself and Maddie can turn a human into a vampire. Mine and Maddie's mating is not the first vampire-human match up in history and I'm sure the same is true of werewolves. I believe you told Maddie that Dominik found you by accident while he was on patrol. Well I'm sure that he forgot to mention to you that when our mates/familiars are near us we feel an immediate pull to it...a pull to find out second half. So neither Dominik nor myself woke up that morning thinking we would find our second half, but as soon as you two stepped within the range of the pull, we were drawn to it, like moths to a flame and for that I could never be grateful." Giovanni finished explaining it to me and soon had Maddie in his embraced. He gave her a light kiss on her head and she sighed in content. I would be jealous if it were not for the fact that I had that myself here, with Dominik.

I laid back into his chest and he threw his arms around my waist and hugged me tighter. I could feel him breathing on top my head as he rested his chin there. This moment here...I could definitely get used to it. Little did I know that this would end as fast as it came.

So a little background on what happened the month Matther was in the hospital. It's kind of ironic he was in the hospital and so was I, haha. Maybe I should write bad stuff anymore in case it would happen to me too. Anyway, enjoy!
