Jimin woke up to an unfamiliar sound in his kitchen. Yoongi's voice was in his kitchen. At 6 in the morning, his voice was downstairs. Jimin couldn't quite process what was going on, as he was still half asleep. He quickly showered, threw on clothes, and grabbed his bag.
"There's sleeping beauty!" His mother exclaimed as he crept down the stairs. "Yoongi came over to ask if he could take you to school today." Jimin's eyes widened. He stuttered, unable to form words with Yoongi politely smiling in his kitchen. "He'd love to, Yoongi! Thank you for offering." His mother loved to meddle in his love life.
"Are you ready to go?" He asked. Jimin saw no other choice and nodded. "Alright then, let's get going. Thank you so much, Mrs. Park!" He shouted as they walked out to his car. Jimin stopped with his hands on his hips and an expectant look painted on his face. "I know that was a bit much. I shouldn't have come over without warning you. It's just.. you look really cute in the morning and I wanted to surprise you." Jimin rolled his eyes and smiled. They hop into his car and pull out of the driveway.
"So, is this you trying to be better?" He shyly nodded.
"If you like a boy, you take him to school. Besides, your mom was very excited that I came over. She claimed that you've liked me for a long time." Yoongi laughed. He turned the radio on and they quietly enjoyed the light music the whole way to school.
Jimin was about to open his door, but Yoongi told him to wait as he rushed around the car to open his door. There were looks, but Yoongi didn't seem to care. His eyes were locked on Jimin. Whispers flooded the parking lot and Jimin's face flushed a bright scarlet. Yoongi locked eyes with Jimin and he could feel his face begin to relax. "They're going to stare, but I think it's worth it just to see you in my car in the daylight." The gentle smile on Yoongi's face was something he hadn't seen in a very long time. The last time he'd seen that smile was ironically the darkest time in Yoongi's life.

One Year Ago
"Fuck you, Jimin. Fuck you and fuck everybody else. Fuck everything. I'm fucking done." The shouts were deafening and terrifying. Yoongi had never been this mad before. Jimin was genuinely scared, but he knew he needed to stop this.
"Yoongi, please," Jimin begged, "please stop. I care for you and I need you to calm down." Yoongi just smiled. It was too peaceful for the intensity that just radiated from him. Jimin took a step towards him, but quickly stepped back as Yoongi grabbed one of the broken bottles from the floor.
"You care for me? Then try and stop me." Yoongi challenged as he drug the broken glass against his wrist. Jimin ran to him in pure panic, failing to stop the bleeding. Before Jimin could realize what was happening, he had called 911 and held pressure on his wrist for fifteen minutes. Yoongi passed out amidst the chaos of rushing him to the hospital and Jimin chose to stay behind. He was the reason Yoongi was that wasted anyway and he was skeptical that he'd enjoy seeing Jimin anytime soon.

Those fifteen were hard to remember, but when he thinks about it, bits and pieces were so vivid and petrifying. He thinks this will be a lot like that. The moments he looks at Yoongi will be vivid and the rest will be terrifying.
"C'mon, let's head inside. It'll be okay. I'll walk you to English. " Yoongi beamed, gently grabbing Jimin's hand. "Who cares what they think? They don't have the kind of thing we've got. They're probably just jealous." They walked into the school together for the first time in years. Jimin didn't know how to feel about everything, but he knew things were changing rapidly. Yoongi clearly wasn't willing to lose Jimin. Even to alcohol.
Yoongi was sober and not itching for a shot. Jimin hadn't seen him like that in years. It was amazing and he really loved this new Yoongi. He was gentle and affectionate, while still being just dominant enough to not bother him.
Jimin had no clue what was in store for them, but he knew one thing for sure, he was happy to be with Yoongi in the daylight.
